Bill, if you want to get Bogey a friend just be prepared to keep them in separate cages if worst comes to worst. It looks like Boo and Pesto will get along fine as long as they don't live together (sounds like humans, doesn't it....LOL).

P'lets can get along, look at Kev's pair, Bubble and Squeak and Buuz's pair too. ;)

It looks like they may be only able to play out of the cage together Laura.

I've got to say i'am surprised that they don't get along, as pip took to squeak quite well considering he had been on his own for six months, and when pip died squeak took to bubbles straight away.
maybe she needs longer to get used to another bird near her, so its probably best to only let them play together. i would think in time she will "want" him as she and him mature. as we've said before though they are not the most gentlest of birds when they are preening each other, unlike budgies who seem so gentle when preening.

Kev, I think you're right, they might really want each other as they get older. Right now I think Pesto thinks of Boo as mama! That should change with time and some hormones! :D

Buuz, there were signs of Boo being really dominant, but we tried them in a cage together just for the day a few times and they preened each other and only had a few minor squabbles so we thought they were ready. Boo is so territorial and so bossy and has been very pampered by Andy to boot!!

Gail, oh, Gail!! Did you see what Kev just said????? rofl2

I think Boo is sooooo bonded to me that it will take a while to break the bond to the point where she wants Pesto more than me

She only seems to go into "attack mode" when I'm around. When I'm not around, they seem to get on better as Laura said. Bill, I think as long as Bogey hasn't bonded too much with you, he'll probably get on ok with a mate. :)

As Kev said, I think in time Boo & Pest will get on ok, he's still a baby. In fact, Boo is still young too, she's only about 7 months old herself nod2

Thanks for the advice Brit and L... Bogey is pretty bonded to me...and I've had him for 8-9 months now...I was thinking if I do it...it would be another male...No offense...to the feme's out there...! Not sure if that would be too big of age difference...also would not know how Bogey would take it??? Not sure if I want to find out either...LOL!!! eek.
