My birds spend so much time OUT of the cage playing that their cage is only actually lived in for sleep time or if I have to go away for the day.

thats true for birds that are out all the time, the dont need a big one to sleep in! LOL

with my pair, they are totally bonded with each other and want nothing to do with me, so a good flight for them is just what they need. (next to an aviary LOL)

Well now that makes a lot of sense for you to have a larger cage Buuz.

Sunshine's cage is roughly 16" X 18" X 22" (sorry for the imperial units, I'm a stupid American hehe). This is roomy enough for a dowel perch, a natural wood perch, a dry food dish, a wet food dish, a water dish, a concrete perch, a cuttlebone, a mineral block, a helical rope perch, two donut swings, a beaded rope with bell, and several other toys. When she gets energetic, she jumps and flies around the entire cage in a blur. This is a fairly old cage, but the coating is still good, and the size is totally sufficient for one, or even two, parrotlets.

Cricket's cage is just a little bit bigger than yours (only by a couple inches). I have managed to fit all the essentials and then some in his little castle! :)

It makes no difference if it's old so long as it's still in good shape.
