I had my parrotlet first, and was warned by the breeder of my Grey, that the p'let would probably try to be the boss, and bully the Grey. And, if that happened, and the Grey had to "defend" himself, the p'let would lose. So be careful, and keep the parrotlet away from your larger birds.

I’ve always been envious of people that have parrots that interact with each other without fighting. I have a couple friends with parrots and think nothing of leaving them on the same playstand together with no worries. If I did that, all that would be left is beaks and feathers! eek.

I have read that the Parrotlet's closest living relative is the Amazon. And judging by personality, I can well believe it! I'm no expert, but from what I've read they have similar personalities, although Parrotlets are said to have a lower tendency to neurotic behaviours such as feather plucking.

I'm so glad neither of my birds pluck and you are right about the parolett and the Amazon being a lot alike.

Oh, I can't imagine my birds EVER getting along, I've always envied people too when I see their different species interacting non- violently. My Amazon would take any opportunity she could to attack my macaw. Despite his size, my macaw is a big softie, and he obviously wants to befriend everyone, but my spoiled little Orange Wing zon will have nothing to do with him. His only function is to screech with her on evenings as far as she's concerned...

This is Oki, my new little parrotlet. I am a bit at odds as to identify gender and what type of parrotlet he/she is specifically. I know green-rumps are native to Trinidad, so I'm thinking maybe that's it? Any input would be appreciated.
