Hi,I am thinking of buying a hand reared parrotlet,will it be ok to put it with a young budgie (8 weeks old),also will it loose its bond with me if it is with another bird,thanks mark |

Welcome Markcorbri! I really don't think it's a good idea to house them together. In spite of their small size, Parrotlets can be aggressive with other birds and for that matter dogs and cats as well. I would be nervous that they would end up fighting. But that's just my opinion! |

hi markcorbri, and welcome
:) as Gail said i wouldn't put them in the same cage as the chances are the parrotlet will hurt the budgie as they are much more aggressive and cage territorial than a budgie. I keep both myself and they are allowed out together but i really do have to keep an eye on the way the parrotlets are treating the budgies kev :) |

The parrotlet is 8 weeks old,she has been hand reared,i am hoping to have her this friday,the guy is going to deliver her all the way from devon to bangor north wales ! i cant wait,i was going to buy a young budgie from a breeder,but after reading about the parrotlet i was hooked,i will keep you posted :P |
