Fake Plants

Sorry if this gets posted twice. My first attempt disappeared!

I was wondering if fake plants are safe for birds? I have seen several pics on other forums with fake plants in cages or on cages. We have recently purchase a MUCH larger cage for Daisy and are getting it set up for her big move in. When she gets out she always heads straight for our Ivy (I think she's trying to blend  ). We always take her out because we don't want her munching on it. Last night my husband bout a fake Ivy to go into her cage but I want to make sure it's safe. Of course it will be cleaned & sterilized and it was originally for a lizard (not just like a department store kind).

Thanks!
(I think my second attempt is longer ... :D )

Good question! I heard that if you shouldn't put plants that have the wire in it with them because they like to chew/bite it and it could be toxic. But I am not sure what other fake plants we Can use. Which I hope someone here will know :P Because I want some in mine too, lol

The ones that I found don't have a wire. It's like a bunch of ivy with a suction cup and it hangs down. It's for a lizard.

This is it here:

I've never put fake plants in with any of my birds and don't know of anyone who does other than for finches. I don't see any real harm so long as they don't have the wires but just watch and see what your bird does.

i don't know whether fake plants would be safe or not, my thought is that parrots like to chew. why not try real plants eg: i use willow in my cages that's with the budgies and parrotlets. i think that buuz might be able to answer this one

I would go with real plants. Exposed wire coud be dangerous to them.
