Well the title pretty much says it all! Well I'm thinking about getting a parrotlet and I was wondering what you do when you go on vacation out of state for awhile.
Love to hear from you!

It's always nice to have a friend that will take care of your bird while your away. They do have pet sitters that come to your home but they won't get a lot of attention that way. The other option is to take them to your avian vet if they board or get one of the techs to maybe take it home with them if they will. I leave mine with my sone and even hough the one bird hates him I have swing out feed dishes so he doesn't have to go in the cage.

If you only have one bird why not take it with you? I have several so I have someone come to my house to feed and never stay gone mare then a few days.

Ha Ha Buuz good bribe. I have taken a couple of my birds with me but it's not always an option. It can be stressfull on them if they have to stay in a hotel room all day by themselves. If I'm going to my sisters house then I can take a bird with me because they stay right at the house with me. I have smaller travel cages for all the birds so they just have to put up with living in a maller cage for a few days.

normally i have a very nice woman who looks after my boys and girls and i return the favour and look after her Eric (a cockatiel), but this year Eric's not well and the vets can not find what's wrong with him so Eric's not coming this year :(
we both find this works very well, she will normally go away for a week and i do a long weekend. :)

Awe Kevin I'm sorry to hear that Erick's sick. I know he has bit you in the past but sure is sad to hear when they get sick.

its nothing serious so the vet says, he has this sticky discharge around his eyes, but the vet can not find anything wrong with him. and as the vet couldn't find anything wrong he couldn't guarantee that it wasn't contagious so eric has to stay at home. he was saying it could be age related.
your right he has bite me before, quite a few times, but i do like him over to stay, with his strange singing and dancing
