One of the very suprising things about our little Kiwi is how much she likes to play
:) We bought a number of cat toys for her, plastic balls and whatnot with bells inside. And she goes absolutely wild for them
:D ! She goes into what I call "attack mode", back and shoulders and head all fluffy and out, beak open, twittering quickly and sharply. When she hears the bell, she goes into action. In fact, now, when we say to her "Kiwi, where is your toy?", she starts fluffing up and twittering
 . And she will run around the floor and charge the toy, follow it along if you drag it about. So cute  . She also has a thing for socks. She will run to a pile of freshly laundered socks, or socks left on the floor, or socks on an unexpecting foot, and start wrestling and biting and getting after them for all she is worth :P Green cloth too. She sometimes is startled when faced with other colors (purple and red seem to make her back off at first), but if there is something green, she gets after it. Kiwi is a green Pacific Parrotlet, so I think that may have something to do with it ;) But I cut strips of various shades of green cloth and tied them in knots, and she will bite and wrestle that for fun :) Are there things that your birds play with that I should try? |

Boo Boo has a favorite bell toy that hangs in her cage. She beats this up all day long  She also likes those "Shredders" things (not sure if you can get them in the UK). They're kinda like wicker type thing (best I can describe them) that birds can shred. Laura can give a better description than me. I've noticed she doesn't like puzzle type toys, she just wants something she can attack viciously  nod2 |

Posted Image Attack bird Kiwi on the hunt for her toy. Back, shoulders, and head up, beak open, twittering sharply...this is how she plays. And when it is done, she doesn't get worked up. She will step up and "kiss-kiss" just as soon as her toys are out of sight B) |
