I will take bonnies advice on letting beans come out on his own, I brought some tos to put on the outside of the cage, I have a peice of millet on the outside as well, so If he wants a treat he will have to come out ;) im a thinker  so when He does choose to come out what should I do?

kev I saw how you have tons of toys and perches outside of the cage and I would like to do the same, but how do you stice them on the walls or roof? screw the toy on or what?

I'm glad to hear it Quicksilver and I think your going to get great results. Now this may sound silly to you but once you open the cage door just have a chair right near the cage. Grab a magazine that you like to read and start reading it aloud. Birds are curious by nature and if your reading and really not paying attention to your bird he will eventually want to join you. Let him chew on the magazine or whatever he wants to do. He may even crawl onto you but I never touch them when they first do. If he continues to come over on you that's when I work on the step up. It's a slow process but your bird will be being trained and doesn't know it. Have a couple of his favorite treats with you so he gets a reward for being a good boy.

if you mean all the junk  on top of the budgies cage, it started with a mazantia (no idea how to spell it) branch which has a bolt in the bottom, then everything else is tied to the cage and the branch. when i find something they might like i just tie it on :) once i get my new cage for the parrotlets, i will start a new one on top of their cage :) nod past1 yellow1 yellow1

For some reason Boo Boo loves walking around on my laptop keyboard  Just be careful of Beans "letting go" from the rear end when he's on your computer :D

I always have a box of Kleenex handy whenever Boo is out of the cage eek.

I've been very lucky with Boo, she always steps up (I don't even have to say anything, just put my finger there) & she's not afraid to go on someone else's finger either. ;)

That's what I like to see is a bird that will go to anyone. The only one I have who won't is my Amazon.

Well that's not the case in my house...

Buster, my macaw is a one person bird...me.
Snickers, my grey is a two person bird...me and my husband.
And Cricket...so far will go to anyone that wants him!
