Hey quicksilver maybe if beans is still reluctant to play in his cage but active outside it you could try introducing the toys outside his cage first? he might be more willing to try it if he see's you having fun with it (and he might feel safer then) and when he's in his cage he might think "hey i remember that thing it was fun..." worth a shot if he's still avoiding his toys!
