It does seem so far away but will be worth the wait, I've never had birds before so this gives me loads of time to prepare properly. I've ordered this book from amazon a few days ago
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Parrotlet-Handbook-Handbooks-Sandee-Molenda/dp/0764141899/ref=dp_ob_title_bk as it said somewhere it was the upto date version of the one you put the link up of?
Maybe I should order the other one too?

I made it after reading they like to go to your shoulder, was worried about him getting hair products in his mouth so thought an apron might help him stay and preen a safe area. Also to help him accept new people if they are wearing the apron initially.Has added benefit of being a poop cover

Think I'm going to have a go at making some toys for outside the cage. Going to have a look at some bead safe for birds, and bells. Is there anything else I can look at? Going to tie them on string/rope? (what sort of thing would you recommend is it possible to buy thin leather straps that are safe??) and attatch the string/rope? to something.
Oh its all to exciting lol.

Everything looks good except the leather since it's dyed and the dye might be unsafe. Try to find natural leather strips that haven't been treated with anything.

The wooden beads are good as long as they aren't treated with anything. A lot of wooden bird toys are dyed with food coloring. You can do it yourself.....only problem is it will come off when it gets wet.

All of those beads are okay. I really like the little parrot beads too! :)

You also want toys made of straw or paper that they can destroy.

This is their favorite....these are made of of Yucca.
