 I think the Albino is different. The American White doesn't have red eyes. I think our American White comes from a white mother & a very, very pale blue pop. I'm not sure how you get an Albino. bfart

They're all doing pretty well, but a few days ago I noticed one of them, Simon, all fluffed up. In fact so fluffed that she looked like a round ball. Then I tried to feed her some millet to see if she would eat and she started to throw up! It was horrible eek. We took her inside and set up a hospital cage and I'm giving her antibiotics and an anti-fungal. I know I shouldn't be treating without going to the vet, but neither of the vets I've been to ever test for anything anyway. They just dole out medications. She's been on the medications for three days and is much better, no fluffing, and is now calling for the others in the aviary, etc. I'm keeping her inside for a while until I'm sure she's better. Everyone else seems fine (keeping fingers crossed!!) She's my sisters bird who joined mine in the aviary.

No, they try to put you off tests........ "Oh, it's too stressfull, Parakeets are so small it's too hard, etc, etc".

I reckon they just think Budgies are "throwaway" birds  They probably wonder why we're 'wasting' money treating them when we can "just get another one"

Yeah, that's the way it is with the budgies and these vets. We got a little budgie once and then about 10 days later noticed he had a respiratory infection. We took him to the vet and he asked, "Well, can you still return him?" referring to the warranty period!!!

if you want to do some tests, you could use avian biotech ask for collecting kits and then send them in they will then do the test for you.here
