We were going to put them in their new home today, but it was too cold! The highs today were around 60F (16C ?). Thought we were going to have nice warm day. I guess we'll wait till next weekend. I can't wait...I feel like an impatient child! :)

Ha, ha! Can you imagine one little parrotlet in an aviary? You'd never find the poor little thing. While Andy was building it, he wanted to take Boo Boo in with him, but I thought she'd get lost in a box of nails or something.

I have the same problem with Jo Jo. I got him a nice large cage and by the time I added toys and ropes I couldn't find him.

One final thought before you add them....

did you scrub down the hardware cloth? it has high levels of zinc so you need to scrub it before putting them in (glad i remember to ask!)

Sounds like your all set. I would try to wipe down the avery once a week with a Listerine and water solution to keep it free of germs.

 Yes indeedy, it's been an epic saga

we were going to put them in this Saturday, but now they're saying there's some storms coming!!! :o

Someone up there doesn't want then to go in! (perhaps he's jealous of my handy work tonguewag )

I put a deposit down on an "American White" P'let female, with the same guy that I got Boo Boo from. I think Laura may keep this one to bond with or maybe we'll see how the 2 birds get on by putting the cages close to each other :D Anyway, I guess they're quite rare birds, I found them on the 'net for $500 :o I paid a lot less than that :P

I'll post some pics as soon as we get her (won't be for a few weeks, she's not fully weaned yet).

nod2
