Hi All. The neighbor was trimming his tree's and I decided to ask for a few branches. Some thing for the little guy to sit and Poop on. One is quite large, I was thinking of cementing in a flower pot. My question is, how should I go about disenfecting them? Any assistance, as always, is greatly appreciated! I also have a Manzanita branch, I would like to try as a perch.

i would scrub it down with hot water then let it dry, a lot of people will put a small amount of bleach into the water as well to help clean any nastys. even a parrotlet struggles to make much of a mark on a Manzanita branch :D

Ditto here... The best part about them is one branch has all different size off shoot on it which is good for their feet!with the Manzanita branches...Also…Listerine is good for cleaning with…kills germs!

Your so right Gail Listerine is an excellent dissenfectant to use on cages, toys etc etc. The Avian vet I worked for used it all the time. It's very cheap to buy if you go to the dollar store and buy the generic brand.
