I have two female parrolets who are 18 months old. They started laying eggs on Jan 10. They layed a total of ten eggs between then and Jan 22nd. I removed the eggs because they are not fertile. They are still setting in on e of their feed dishes all the time. They have lost a lot of their feathers on the breast and back. How long will it be before they start acting "normal" again?

After I posted my question this morning I found another egg in the cage. I can't believe how many they have laid now. It has been interesting but I would like them to get back to normal as soon as possible. They do look really cute sitting though. They started laying eggs in the stainless steel bowl I put their pellet food in. They break the pellets up and then sit in the dish.

the only advice i could offer, as i dont keep any females is try leaving the eggs in the bowls until they get fed up sitting on them. the problem is that when you take their eggs away they will just lay more.
make sure you have cuttle bone and mineral blocks in the cage for them as they will need this as they are using a lot of calcium laying all those eggs.

I have some budgie hens that keep laying, i replace my eggs with fake ones until she gives up and goes out of condition. but never had this with the parrotlets yet.
