thats a very nice sized cage for Crickett, you will need the seed catchers  they can be a bit messy. if your still getting more toys they seem to love swings, and stuff to break

no offence taken.

well pip loves to chew, ive made him lollipop stick toys and he rips them to shreds. i make them out of these as they seem more parrotlet size rather than the toys you can buy in shops which for me seem a bit big for them.

Wow..very clever!! I'll have to see what I can come up with. I looked at several toys yesterday and even for the small birds I couldn't find one less than $6.00! I would love to know why it cost so much for a couple pieces of wood and some rawhide!!! lol...

I know what you mean about messy. I took care of two while my friend went on vacation and oh my!!! They litterly took baths in their seed!!!!! Vacuum cleaner out everyday!!!

So a seed guard was an absolute must!!!!

i'll be honest and say that i used to spend loads of money on toys for the birds and most of them they didnt want to play with. ive got a coconut in the budgies cage and all they have done with it is preened all the hairs off. and that cost £12 = $24 :o at that point i decided that i would rather make their toys, and they seem to enjoy these more as they are easier to break and chew up.
the other place to find toys suitable for parrotlets or budgies is in the hamster or rat section of pet shops ;) eg dried Cholla (cactus) wood is about half the price in the hamster section, and its the same stuff as in the parrot section
