hey i am really interested in this kind of birds :o :wub: they look so beautiful .... but was wondering how big the perrotlets are and if they are good natured birds ???

hi jadhc, they are about 130mm 5 inches from the tip of the beak to the tip of their tail, and if they are handreared or you could get one about 8 weeks old and tame it yourself they make very good pets and are quite good natured.

well since you know about both budgies and parrotlets ... which bird do you think is better ??? and iwas wondering to they make dust like cokcatiels do ?? and are they loud birds ??? :D

thats a hard choice jadhc, i like all my birds the same so i cant really say which is better :) parrotlets are not dusty like tiels they have a gland at the base of their tail which they use to clean their feathers. parrotlets are not noisy and are quiter than budgies, well mine are.

you know kevin, my boy (he is now refered to as "big blue" lol) actually sounds like my bourkes. he was chattering away when mr b said something about him talking. i said it wasnt him, it was the bourkes, sure enough it was him! lol

they sure chatter a lot when they get going although i dont find thats it too loud, i cant say weather they sound like bourkes as i havent or cant remember what they sound like. pip does this little machine gun noise when he gets mad with his toys :)
