Signs of illness in birds. In the wild birds will hide their illness, so as not to become prey for animals or other birds that will hunt them.Pet birds will also hide their illness, by the time a bird looks ill it has probably been ill for some days.So keep an eye on your bird for any odd behavior, here are some common signs of illness. Listlessness Dull eyes Diarrhea Fluffed feathers, when not sleeping Unsteady on perch Tail bobbing Loss of appetite Changes in the droppings Changes in behavior Sneezing Gagging Weight loss If your bird shows any of these signs you should take it to the vet. |
