Hi, We bought 2 yellow parrotlets a week ago. The only difference between them was eye color. one with red and other with black. 4 days ago the red-eyed got injured probably in a fight, and hurt his wing and legs. his wing was bleeding and he was unable to walk. We applied some betadien to the bleeding wing and now he can fly around in the cage but cannot use his legs at all. neither sits nor walks. I have to hand feed him cos he cannot reach the food tray.Took him to a vet, not an avian vet, so he sprayed him with some anti fleas spray and prescribed Novamox. but not much improvement. something is wrong with his legs, can someone help? we dont have an avian vet available here in delhi, India.

Hi Prerna, welcome to the forum!

Sorry to hear about your injured parrotlet. It's really hard to say why he's not able to walk or perch. Are there visible wounds on his legs or feet?

We have a member here, Jan, who has a parrotlet who can't get around because of an injury. She'll be able to tell you what she's done to make her bird comfortable.
