OMG Im sure this bird is mad!
Today she has biten me really nasty..(threw gloves)
Attacked my 2 tiels...
Had one of them pinned to the floor..
Luckily the other flew up high.
She went for Scooby like something demented
Lastly she pounced on Mint and and bit feathers out
of her... Poor Mint was shaking..and has a bald patch now..
Do you think she was left like this after her convolutions
she had a young bird?
She seems to like know one but my daughter...
(She is only home once or twice a year)

She is in her own cage.. no more with Scooby
that only lasted 2 hours then she went mad..
At the end of my tether with her..
Do any of you have any thoughts on what I can try next?

Do you know what Im sorry I ever had her!
Sounds terrible but hell Ive tried it all...

From now on she is in her own cage..

Poor Mint luvs her to bits but she cant be with her
on the ground out of the cage while Sky is like this

Sorry to hear that your having problems with her Jan, my Guess would be that it is because you have two hens and one cock bird, but why she attacked your tiels I dont know.

There is nothing wrong admitting that she might not be the best bird for you, maybe have a word with the shop you got Scooby from and see if the breeder wants a hen for breeding with, this is most likely what she will want and will settle down with this. I see nothing wrong with doing this there is no point having a bird that attacks your other birds as this is no fun for any of you.

How do scooby and mint get along, I know you still keep her seperate but do they play together or get along together ?

Awwww Jan....I'm so sorry!!! Parrots are so sensitive and so intelligent...you just never know how they are going to act or react.. :(

I have to admit my sweet little Cricket is going through some changes right now too. One minute he's sweet as pie and the next he's like a shark out of water. He NEVER EVER use to bite me until the past few weeks. Now when I put my hand in his cage to pick him up he goes bazerk! So I don't back down and keep trying to pick him up the whole time he is lunging at me like a madman...I ALWAYS get my way in the end though... I don't let him ever think he is hurting me...

Just like people they can have bad times. It could be for any number of reasons or as Kev said, something to do with mating instincts. I wouldn't jump to any conclusions just yet, but definately keep her away from the others like you are. Mint won't have much chance to defend herself in her condition. hide
