Do your parrotlets come looking for you if you get out of sight? Jade has learned to follow me into the bathroom and the other day I walked off while her cage door was open, a few minutes later heard wings, and finally found her sitting on the bathroom mirror looking very confused since that's usually where she finds me when I disappear from sight.
She is also terrified of our laundry room  so she flies off me back to her cage if I start down the hall. But the other day I was in the baby's room (right next to laundry) for a little while, she had flown away like usual, but I guess she got tired of waiting and came looking. Flew into the laundry room and made a loop, then into the nursery on her way back and landed on my head when she found me.
I didn't think they were smart enough to come hunting like that, is this normal or can I claim to have the world's smartest nod2 ?

I wish I could tell you Jade is the smartest parrotlet in the world   but parrots will go looking for you! Boo will go fly and find Andy if he leaves her too long. They're smart little things, aren't they? :)

Mochi does try this, but the opposite. Not to say that he doesn't like me, but he likes his cage more so when he feels we've spent enough time together he will (try to at least) fly back home to his cage.

However, in the morning if I go to the washroom before petting him he will carry on about it until I get back and pet him and let him get on my shoulder for the morning.

Even though I never leave her out and go far away, if I move to the kitchen, she flys after me. It's starting to be safer just to leave her on my shoulder...
