Hi there. Have been thinking about buying a parrot or mynah bird for a few months now. We visited our nearest pert shop today and discovered Parrotlets. My partner and I have never heard of them before, but after seeing them I've decided to do some research before choosing what to get. Regards, Tony. |

Hi Tony you have quite a wide range in likes of birds  The Parrotlet is also known as the Minature Amazon. I think if your getting your first bird a Parrotlet is a good choice, even though they are small they have HUGE personalities and think they are big birds. There fairly easy to care for and seem to accept real fruits and veggies very quickly.. The males can talk if you work with them. |

I don't think you can even buy a Mynah bird in a pet store here, only from a breeder. |

Hi and welcome wave I was like you i wanted to buy a parrot, when i went to a breeder i saw a little green bird in a aviary and i asked what it was, i was told it was a parrotlet, and from that moment on i was hooked ,and now look at my flock i have Sky past1 and scooby nod2 who have just recently raised 3 gorgeous little baby parrotlets, i have 2 girls smurf blue1 and snoopy nod2 who are inseperable, and i have 1 of the babies left a little blue male called tico blue1, and i am thinking of letting Sky and Scooby have some more babies. they are adorable little birds with big personalities each one is different. |

Hi Tony, welcome to the forum :) I can only really add one thing to what's already been said - if you want your parrotlet to talk, just get one, you will find it bonds more with you than if you get a pair. Having said that, they are fun to watch interacting with each other.... |
