I would leave the egg where it is, and they should then just ignore it, take it away and she might lay more.

they are a lot older than what you have been told I am guessing if they were hatched first week april they would only just be leaving their parents at between 8 and 10 weeks

It will in the end but I would leave it as is for a few days, if you take it away she might lay again which is not something that you want if they are young. Parrotlets do not sit on their eggs as soon as they are laid they normally wait untill the second is laid which might be in two days time. Even if they are early 09 birds they are really still too young, some will raise chicks at this age but its not recommend.

09 is just the year I am guessing although it could relate to anything as there are no laws to say that a bird has to be ringed and what must be on the ring. If you can see the ring what else is on it ?

I agree with Kev don't pull it or she will continue to lay. If you were told she was born April 2009 that would only make her 3 months or so old no baby starts laying at 3 months of age., she has to be older than that.

I agree with bonnie and kev leave the egg, she must be older than 3 months old, i have baby parrotlets which i breed and now there are now 3 months old and no way are there ready to breed. :)

no need to get fed up about it :) they are still beautiful Parrotlets, I just think it would be very unlikely for an 06 09 baby to lay eggs I suppose not impossible but just unlikely.

There is no way of telling the age of a parrotlet, a lot of people could tell you if its very young as their beaks are more pinker and they have a baby look to them but very hard to do from a photo

It might be worth emailing these people about your ring they might be able to put you in contact with the breeder who should be able to twll you their age

Hi, can you upload larger photos? We might be able to get an idea if they are young babies if we're able to see more detail. :)

Also you should check their Toes, Mochi is about 6 months old and his foot claws are about half turned black, other half is pink.
I got him at about 1 month and a half... and it wasn't until 3 or 4 months that they started to change. nod2

About the toenail color.....I found that some lighter mutations are born with clear/white toenails. Like the blue pied and blue fallow, but the normal blues and greens were born with black nails :)
