My friend rescued a year old African grey.... Shes bald. Just a head, looks like a plucked chicken! So sad, hard to do much for her. She gets better at not plucking and starts growing feathers then one day she rips them out again. Horrible habit... Previous owners ruined her. Shes in a good home now though!

His feathers look gooooorgeous!! Hes so full and fluffy!! Beautiful.

It always breaks my heart to hear about pluckers. Especially since I have one myself. The only thing you can do is rule out any medical issues and then go from there. If they want to pluck there's really no stopping them...they say it's an addiction, like smoking. :(

aww so good to see he got all his feathers back.
That's sad about your friends African Grey, kmcgiveron.

With Mochi, he tends to pull out the growth of where his wings were clipped so I don't have to clip him as often, and he just does that as part of his grooming ritual, it's so funny!

It is awful having a plucker.. my tiel is...
He looks like a plucked chicken at present...
but so happy.... what can be done I ve tried
everything I can think of... nothing works for long...


I got my Parrotlets thinking company may help him
but it didnt much... at least they dont copy him...
I still luv him tho.... bald or feathered giggle
