I think He likes his Cage

If anyone remembers my first post here was about Mochi having a problem with mirrors, and he seems over it but he is still changed from the experience. He doesn't fear me, but he only bites when he is in his cage and doesn't like to step up and when I do what is instructed to do in this website he just seems happy like he's just had a victory. When he is out of his cage he doesn't bite, and if I offer him food or seed in my hand he doesn't seem to bite. So I think he just doesn't like it when I take him away from his cage, so he bites. And when I leave him alone to 'punish' him he seems as happy as a clam that I've left.
The only thing I can think to do would be to take his toys out but that would be really mean; I've also been hand-feeding him his fruits and veggies lately rather than putting them in his cage.

They can be cage territorial but when out they are very good.

Yes it is, you may try hanging a couple of his favorite toys on the outside of his cage. This way he will come out to play with them. Then try doing the step up when he is on the outside of the cage.

Just be aware that sometimes they can be very cautious of anything new, especially if it's in a new place. hide It sometimes takes Bigboy a week or more just to get the courage to approach a new toy. (and Bigboy is not a timid bird) drats Be patient. Good luck. I think you are on the right track. nodding
