Give him time.

No, really. He's just been introduced to a new environment and a new owner, so he just needs to settle in, I expect. Other members might have good tips on getting a young bird to acclimate. My two came to me at over a year and a half old, and already bonded to one another, so they're taking a lot more time and work than your young guy should. Just be patient and consistent. :)

Yes...I agree with Kristin. You can't expect them to bond with you over night. It takes time! I had the good fortune to visit mine at the breeders store on my lunch hour. I went at least 3 times a week to see and "play" with him before I brought him home and away from his security blanket! I was lucky to be able to do that...so yeah...it's going to take some time and also some patience on your part...but don't give up! It will be worth it!

Yes time and patience is the best. You may want to open the cage to see if he will come out on his own and just leave him alone. This may help him to get used to being out of the cage and not so frightened.
