Morning Jan, yesterday was a success! The original clip was not enough though, when i got Lola out she went straight for the tops of the curtains and gave me the runaround for ages so i did it again, took some more off and took it off the rest of the primaries too. This gave a brilliant result! When she flies now its more on a level, gradually gliding downwards, she even landed on my husbands lap! She sat on my hand for ages, what a sweetie, she has never been so friendly out of the cage. Had a nightmare catching Charlie in the cage(so stressful) but eventually got him out and re-clipped him too. When i let him go he had a fly but came to rest halfway up the curtains. I was able to pluck him off easily and had a lovely time stroking him and scratching his head, he actually seemed to enjoy it! They can still fly easily but not as fast or as far, or as high, so there's no panic and it's easy to catch them. I would definately recommend wing clipping, they are not tame yet but I'm more hopeful now. Kevin, thank you so much for the pictures of squeak and Boo, it was much easier to see how much to clip than the diagram. :)

Isn't it amazing how the attitudes change with a little wing clip! LOL!

I'm glad you had success!!! It will be so much easier to train them now! nodding

Good news abby 0163951

When they realize that they need you to get them out of "danger", they rely on you a lot more & it increases the bond nodding

Glad it helped 2.gif

Sounds like a good result Abby!
You got me thinking, today, I might get
Scooby-Doo clipped...I looked last night at his wings..
but my hands are too stiff to do it Im thinking...(Plus Im nervous about it) tuttut
I know a lady who will help and show me Im sure....
Scooby-doo has gone a little mad since he has settled in..
Doesnt want to come out of the cage ect...
Ive not let him fly free yet..recon' it will take me a week to
catch him...
My two girls are changing.. quite sweet now.. they flop into my
gloved hand now in the cage...to come out... still nippy...but not as hard jumping for joy
They both like to stand on the Teils large cage top and I get kisses...
No they wont step up... getting easeier to catch too 0163951
Good luck keep me posted on your training ...
We sound in the same state with our P-lets.... giggle
