Hi All, I am a brand new Daddy of two Parrotlets. I would love any and all advice that can be offered. I have read up on most of what I could find prior to adopting these two, but the breeder was ready to adopt them out so I took them in right away. So I am eager to learn training (one like to nip way to much and hard). Thank you, Kevin "Specialist" Cobb |

Hi Kevin, welcome to the forum. You must expect to get a "love bite" or two     Sometimes they're just using their beak to climb or test something & not really biting nodding If they're getting all "fluffed" & lunging at you, then that's a different matter & they must be trained not to bite. Here's a thread about the same subject, it should help you also....................... http://s10.zetaboards.com/Parrotlets/topic/7014134/1/?x=25#new 2.gif |

hi and welcome to the forum, as everybody els has said time and patience with the little darlings is what is needed. I have 3 parrotlets a breeding pair which i hope to breed from next year called sky and scooby, but these 2 are still quite tame , i handle them both daily and scooby still likes to hide behind my hair like he did when i first got him, sky is not so tame but she will step up when asked to , but my favorite is smurf she is my little baby she is silly tame , but she can still give a nasty bite when she does not want to come out of her cage. good luck wave wave |
