Love this forum; great bird owners and valuable info.

Cage is set, toys are hanging, and I'm just waiting for my baby boy pacific to be unweaned.

lol!

I know, I know. I double posted. Still getting used to this forum, so I'll get it right one of these days. drats

Green bean is around 3 weeks old ... sorta looks like him -----> nod2

I believe I will need to wait 2-3 more weeks until the baby can eat on its own. The bird owner was generous to give me updates via pics.

The baby is furless

Green Bean! What a cute name giggle

Little G.B. should be getting his feathers any day now (of course they grow in slowly). That's nice of the breeder to give you updates.

What part of of Calif are you in? I'm in Orange County.

Truthfully, I have no idea how I came up with that name.

Saw the pics, and said to myself: "Hey greeny little beany!"

But then again, I'm pretty sure there's gonna be some teasing that might go on behind the chitter-chatter with the other parrotlets (plan on getting another one in a couple of months. 1 step at a time).

So thought I shorten it to Green Bean.

Oh boy, I live in the Valley. Whew, its hot. I actually spent $$ to get a good AC unit for this bird. He wouldn't survive without it.

Love the name, John 2.gif

Birds can usually take cold better than heat if they can have some time to acclimatize. You're right about the heat in the valley, even in South Orange county it can get pretty hot & we're only 3 miles from the beach so at least we get some ocean breeze :scared:

We have 8 budgies in an outside aviary that we mist a lot in the summer to help them cool down. BUUZ lives nearer to LA & it gets hotter than Vindaloo curry where she is eek
