I will be seperating the cages of the conures... If you remember a few weeks back Kermit and Coco got into a fight, Coco starting it, and Kermit giving him a pretty nasty bite on the wing, drawing a lot of blood. Well last night Kermit was in his cage and Sheila was out, she climbed over to his cage and he bit her thru the bars... this was the result. It could have been a LOT worse! She took off flying and crashed into the mirror after he bit her, then took off again into the bathroom crashing into that mirror. Lets just say when I scooped her up, she was a bit dazed! This was the most snuggles I got from her since the nest box was removed! anyway... bite mark... Posted Image Posted Image Right now the green cheeks cage is next to Kermits, sharing a FSL. I think I will be ordering a new FSL fixture and then moving him to the other wall across from where they are now. I'll have to move the my bakers rack to the kitchen, but thats ok! She is very lucky all he got ahold of was feathers, she didn't bleed at all. Too close for comfort though! |

Poor baby! She was very lucky...it was so close to the eye! eek I always worry about Snickers and Buster too. My husband had to make a plexiglass partition between their cages. They both used to get on top of the cages and fight. |

I was thinking of plexiglass, but she climbs along the front, so it would have to stick out a few inches in the front. Knowing klutsy me, I'd be crashing into 24/7! Theres a good 3" between the cages, so they cant fight when inside. |

Poor little Sheila! I hope she heals up fast. Has her brood patch grown back in yet? If not, the poor little girl must look like a patchwork quilt! I'm always afraid too when Boo flies on to Quigley's cage. :scared: |

With Snickers and Buster, I spend half my night worrying about who's going to fight with who! They cannot be left alone in the same room together or I will have a real catastrophy on my hands. Not even for a minute... I honestly think it would be a fight to the death..neither one of them will back down. :scared: And they have lived next to each other for over 18 years...They hate each other... :( |

I hear ya!!! laura, she was fully feathered again when i removed the box.. that was what, a month plus she sat on them, poor gal! when i got home, i checked her bald spot, there was no redness, so i didnt need to put any neosporin on it. I put a towel on kermits cage while they were out... kermit was a total crack up, he went and sat at the end that was uncovered. he sat on his favorite dish with his pink wig on! LOL |
