Mine aren't! Lately they've become quite noisy, well it's charlie really. He makes constant noise, sometimes just chattering quietly to himself but several times a day he goes off on one shouting at Lola, not that she takes much notice!

Ha, ha! Like everyone says, this is a normal thing for a parrotlet pair to do!!

Kev, two pairs start to sound like little machine guns shouting back and forth, don't they? It gets crazy especially when they can see each other!! eek I used to have the breeding pairs stacked on top of each other, but now I put Buttercup a few feet away with a room divider in between and they are quieter. It's funny because they couldn't see each other when they were stacked up but this is better

Well my husband keeps reminding me of how i told him they were really quiet before we got them, seems not everything you read on the net is true! drats I think they do it just to wind him up, whenever he's on the phone they get really loud, he's always moaning that he can't hear himself think with those damned 'budgies'!!

I try to keep mine out of sight of one another as well, there will be times when they start shouting anyway, like first thing in the morning or last thing at night, this is just something that all birds do. The other times they will do it is when you put that dvd in, that you have really been looking forward too.

PS. It's actually a good sign when birds make noise. It means they're happy & content (usually).

Jade somehow knows when I have a migraine...that's when she REALLY goes off. But at night before bed we hear her almost every day, but our flock of finches is just about as loud when they get going .

I agree about the finches , i had some zebra finches and there never shut up beeping all day long. but they were so cute.
Right now I am sat typing on the computer , and i can hear the birds downstairs , i can hear sky and scooby scabbling and kermit scawking and ollie chirping, and the canaries singing to each other , but this is signs of a happy bird population rofl

i wonder what my neighbour thinks? :bana: :bana:

You're right sky the beeping is cute. Especially when the baby boys start learning to sing :)
I guess we're double-lucky, we have both birds and bass! And on top of all, the neighbor redoes Corvettes in his driveway... Angry Sile
