I go to Omar's Bird shop to take photos for the website every now and then and have a few more to show you guys...

This is Harley, an 8-yr-old Blue and Gold Macaw who was being re-homed. He was there for several months because they knew they had to find the right home for him. He was just sold and is now with his new parents who have two more B&G's.

Kev, I would love a Caique (or two!). They're so much fun!! Only problem is they're sort of expensive. I think about $1299 or $1399. Are they expensive in the UK too?

not sure of the exact price but I doubt if they are more than £400 = $800 I dare not check Laura as I have seen lots of videos of cakes playing and they are like kids rolling around together

The birds are beautiful, the store looks spotless, and I've never seen so many bird toys in one spot in my life! How do you ever manage to leave?

LOL! It's not easy to leave empty handed, that's for sure. I always end up with toys and food even if I go in not planning on buying anything. It's so fun playing with all the babies, which they encourage the customers to do. :)

Did you see their website?

Laura, I think I met him years ago. If it's the same gentleman? I can't remember where for the life of me, maybe some bird expo? But I was intrigued by those hanging perches and we got to talking about them. He'd just designed them and was selling them. They were too much for me at the time but I really liked the idea since I'd never seen them before.
I really love the concept of his stores as well, with boarding and lifetime free grooming. The rates for those are great too. I enjoyed hearing he uses Super Preen like I do, since a lot of people have never heard of it or say it's over supplementing, but by the look of the birds I'd say NOT, lol.
Were ALL those your photos on the site? I think I recognize your talented eye. giggle 2.gif
One question: No Pionus for sale?

Lily, you probably did meet Omar, he's been in the business since the early 80's and designed those hanging perches. He wasn't selling them for a while but lately I've seen a few in his stores for sale.

It's funny you mention Super Preen because it's being made under his name now. I think he bought the company, I'm not sure. It will still be called Super Preen but it will say..."Made exclusively for Omar's" on the label. They're going to have a new website just for Super Preen and Super Minee (the one with more calcium) where you can buy it directly. My sister is designing the website right now and we just finished taking the photos of the new labels last week! I've been giving Gretel Super Minee and she laid seven eggs, so I think it works!!

Yes, they've had several Pionus, but not this last time I took the photos. If you look back to other Omar's photo threads I'm sure you'll find one. I took most of the photos for the website except a few on the Bird Care page and a few others. nodding It was so fun!!
