Member of the year award

I have been thinking about having a member of the year award for a while now, and after talking with the staff members we decided that it would be a great idea to nominate one person a year for this. The award is given for their contribution to the forum but is mainly given for their outright dedication to their birds, whether this is for rescuing a bird or looking after sick or injured birds.

So with out further ado we have decided that this years Member of the year is Jan, for absolute total dedication to her pair Sky and Mint. Jan did not have a very good start with her birds as they regressed just after she got them, but with care and dedication they gradually got better.

Things then went well for Jan and her birds she even added to her flock when she bought Scooby, one of the most beautiful Parrotlets I have ever seen, he is a green pied. Things then took a very bad turn for the worst when some one trimmed Mints wings but insisted that only one wing should be trimmed, within 10 minutes of letting him go Mint was holding his leg up. After I should think a very worrying wait for the vet it turned out that Mint had broken his hip and leg ! Mint has had an operation to fix his hip and leg but its unknown if he will ever be able to use he leg as he did before the incident.
