Okay, so I don't have the birds yet, but I'm very optimistic that I'll be bringing two home tomorrow, rehoming them for someone in my area. They have one male and one female, not related, about 1 1/2 years old. Apparently they haven't shown any interest in breeding yet, which is okay by me. As much as I'd adore having parrotlets and I think I will make a good caregiver/friend for one or two, I really don't have the time or resources to start breeding. SO. My first question is, is there a way I can discourage the little guys from breeding? I fell upon birdboard.comthis page the other day, but the more opinions/points-of-view, the better, so let me know if you have any thoughts. Obviously, putting them in separate cages would alleviate my concern, but I'd rather use that as a last resort. I guess that's my only pressing question for now, but I'm sure I'll remember something else I wanted to ask as soon as I log off. :P Thanks! |
