We have two little dogs and lots of birds. It seems all new birds are a little concerned about a barking dog if they've never seen or heard one before, but soon it won't bother them at all. :) One thing you want to be aware of is that birds have very sensitive respiratory systems, so keep your bird well away from the any smoke in the house, perfumes, scented candles, cleaning supplies, etc. Since your new baby will be staying with your cousin sometimes, you should tell him about this too.
