This is the toughtest time I have been through in a while and nobody deserves to feel this way. The thing that makes it the most painful is that it was not my fault at all. We (my girlfriend and I) took every precaution to keep him safe and happy, and because of someone else's careless mistake, he is now gone. We feel so helpless and sad because we know that he is all alone out there and doesn't know how to fend for himself.
