OVER 9000!!!
We begin with the sounds of crickets chirping outside on an unusually muggy late Spring day. There's crickets letting out their song of the summer a touch early, a big white moon over us and there sitting on a dimly lit patio is PRW wrestler Joey NOX. Joey NOX looks haggard in so many different ways, from how unkempt his hair looks to how dirty his goatee appears. Everything about NOX seems off which isn't too surprising given how off he's been since he announced his return at Superbattle. Joey's wearing layers to cover up his body which could only be seen as a guy protecting the weaker points of his frame. After Kurt Kiddo destroyed Joey NOX's body, I suppose it's not a surprise he's trying to do some hiding. The setting seems perfect for sleep but NOX has some words he'd like to dole out seemingly. Taking a deep breath, Joey pops the top off of a San Pellegrino and looks it over, flipping the bottle top in his hands absentmindedly. NOX lets out a big sigh as he looks the bottle over, his words pouring out slowly and calmly while the fizzing of the drink provides additional noise over the back half.

NOX: A few days ago on twitter, I said I'd be speaking. To the credit of PRW, to the credit of the fine folks working for PRW, they did their part. They all showed up to my door, mic and cameras ready to get the words out of me. I had PROMISED them words, the same way I went on twitter and said I'd talk. They did their part but it was me who failed.

Familiar feeling, huh?

NOX takes a big sip of his drink, the crickets chirping in the background while he refreshes himself. Joey tucks the bottle between his legs and continues on with his words, his hands moving and swaying to articulate the points he's trying to make along the way.

NOX: As PRW rolled into my house and began to set things up, I had a sudden feeling come over me. That feeling I believe was the feeling of indecisiveness, this unusual tension I've never felt before when I've had a microphone in my face. If there's one thing you guys could always say about me, it's that a live microphone doesn't ever scare me. For the first time in a long time, perhaps for the first time EVER, I....I didn't feel it. I couldn't feel it. I've spent the past few days wondering why that is and to be honest? I think I've finally figured out.

Joey leans in close. For the first time this entire interview we can get a clearer shot of his face and we can see his eyes. He looks tired and worn out, like this entire situation has been weighing heavily on him. He pinches his fingers together and speaks, the bags under his eyes are impactful as the words he's giving us currently.

NOX: This business is the business of read and react. It's of quick hitters, quick responses and the ability to snap back as fast as you can. Sounds great, right? But what if you're just responding to respond? What if the whole goal of your response isn't something you feel but an obligation. An obligation to not get punked again like how you punked me the last time. The instinct is to fire back, like a wounded animal in need of surviving. I've been wounded for far too long, Kurt.

We're then taken to an audioless highlight reel of Kurt Kiddo scoreboarding on Joey NOX after his open letter. Each painful and cringey second is captured in glorious detail with Joey NOX talking over it. The visual aide of Kurt Kiddo blends with the painful drain in the voice of Joey NOX to tell us everything we need to know about why we're here and how we got here.

NOX: Kurt Kiddo, it was cute. I'm man enough to admit your little response hit a nerve. Consider that an indictment of honesty, Kurt. I'm willing to say you hurt me. I'd be an idiot if I didn't call it a damn good shot, perhaps not as good as the one you did on my ribs but hey! A good shot is a good shot. One good turn in this business often deserves another, right?

A shrug follows up the line, a false smile to follow shortly thereafter. NOX chuckles and groans, moving onward as quickly as he can.

NOX: But the problem is that as I stood there, I realized something about you and I that had me sort of putting it all together. See Kurt, you need me. Your irrelevant career needs me to respond. You need me to clap back at you to validate you. The pain you put into my body apparently wasn't enough so you need more. As I wrote a letter to MY fans about my physical condition and my mental state, you took it and made it about you. You took something personal and turned it into a joke for your own behalf. Cute and cutting, right? See that only works if I clap back at you and let you know how BADLY it hurt. It's all about me, ball's in my court. The business we're in suggests I HAVE to hit you back----but let's be realistic.

We're then taken back to Joey NOX. With a groan, Joey NOX lifts up his shirts to reveal the layers of tape and bruising underneath. He moves slightly so that the light can capture each and every potential angle of his body to show off the damage.

NOX: I'm not exactly in the shape to go where this is supposed to, right?

Joey NOX lowers his shirt down and sips his drink, the crickets filling the dead space with their chirping. Rather than get immediately back in the action, Joey lets that noise act as the holdover while he gathers himself. With a few head nods and a cold little smirk, Joey eventually picks up where he left off. With his words acting as the hammer, Joey fights through the pain to fight his point home as smoothly as possible.

NOX: Let's not mince words here. The competitor in me wants to fight you, the prideful man inside of me wants to drop you verbally the way I drop everybody I go against. The realist in me knows that where you want this to go, I can't go. The more I talk, the more you think I'm going to fight you when the truth is that physically I haven't been cleared. Mentally? I'm not sure where my head is at either. You want me to give you what we in the business call "the rub" and that's very stupid of you to think I'd help out somebody who happened to break my entire body into pieces. Everything I'm trying to do is focused on just healing----but you want me to go out of my way to make you famous. You want this end game; a big clash at the biggest show of the year in a sold out stadium. You want me at Summerfest and you're hoping I'll play along but here's the problem; you break me---now you need to be a patient little fuck and wait until I'm fixed up. That's if I can get fixed up at all, ya know?

Joey NOX casually stands up from his seat, turning back towards the front door behind him. He looks back at the camera and claps his hands together, his eyes locked on the viewers at home. Leaning forward with a grimace on his face, Joey NOX takes a sip of his drink before speaking calmly.

NOX: So here's what we'll do, fella. This is all you'll get from me. You can be the first guy to not get the fire back. You've been spared of the Joey NOX intensity. You are the FIRST man to come at me verbally and get off without the response that so many others have been buried under.

With a big smirk and a shrug, Joey NOX wraps this all up.

NOX: You've been spared. Now leave me alone and focus on finding yourself something to do at Summerfest.

As soon as those words spill out of his mouth, NOX's inflection changes. His face contorts and he struggles with what he's just said. He lets out a big sigh, pours his drink out over the ledge and then chucks the bottle into his front yard. NOX pauses momentarily to say something else but no words come out. Instead he bottles it up, nods his head and heads inside with the mighty slamming of his door.
