OVER 9000!!!
NOX: To modify a quote from an old friend of mine, I don't know many of your names---but you ALL have my attention.

We begin with the words of the man himself Joey NOX. Standing there in a sweat covered gym shirt with long black sweats on, Joey looks like a dude who either just had a tremendous fight with a bear or has finished a completely exhausting workout. Joey looks tired but he's got a bit of a smirk on his face, running his hands through his hair briefly and flicking his sweat off to the side. With the sounds of early morning birds chirping and a spring wind blowing behind him, Joey NOX takesi n one last big deep breath. NOX's eyes are focused ahead on the task at hand and his words are flowing out of his mouth with a causal stream.

NOX: Let's not mince too many words, right? Superbattle is approaching at a rapid rate at this point. The people who claim spots in the battle royal of all battle royals are being lined up and things are shaping up to be one packed day in Australia. Perhaps one of the biggest events in Australian sports history period if you're asking me. It's all about the Superbattle and here's the thing, EVERYONE in that match has something to prove! A guy like Bane wants the chance to fight for the big boy title, Singh wants to make an impact in her debut in Superbattle. Old time legends like Dan Bennett and my personal friend Alex LeBlanc all want to make glorious grandiose returns and of course, you've got all the new guys in there who want to stand out and have a shot to win it all as well.

And then there's me.

There's a chill in NOX's voice as he says that last line, almost as chilly as the winds outside. Joey steps back momentarily, rubbing his palms together while he seems to be contemplating his next words. Running his hand over his goatee, he gets back on the verbal horse except this time it sounds as if his words are at conflict with one another. His voice sounds like aman being choked by the reality facing him.

NOX: You know I've been struggling to find out why I'm in this match and what it is I'm chasing. The entire story, this entire story, MY entire story was done or so I thought. At Superbattle, I went out there and I won the whole damn thing beating all the names from the past, present AND the future of PRW. Our current Undisputed champ was in there and I beat him. Former champs like Ace Andrews were in there and they went out as well. From there I went to Summerfest where I headlined vs Jesse Drive in a sold out stadium and I didn't win----but I didn't leave feeling like I had lost either. I left there with a head held high feeling accomplished and worthwhile. Then came Christmas Carnage! PRW calls me up and asks me to fly out, ironically enough back to the scene of the crime here in Australia, to fill in on short notice. All good! I came out, gave an honest effort for Ata Tatupu and left there with a feeling of being content. I believe I even went as far as to use the term happy.

After he says that last word, NOX pauses. His head shakes slightly and he mouths it again while the sun tries to fight through the morning clouds behind him. With a big deep breath, Joey NOX finds a way to fight out a smile and continue onward.

NOX: And yet when the phone rang, I found myself back on the card. Back on Superbattle. And you got all these great wrestlers out here competing and battling to prove something in Superbattle and I find myself with nothing to prove anymore. Superbattle? Won it. Undisputed Championship? Had it. Headlining Summerfest? Done it THREE times. What else is there to prove at this point, ya know what I mean? I don't even have a tremendously deep rooted story to tell you about WHY I'm here. All I know is that I'm here. I'm in the Superbattle once again.

Joey pauses and fights off a little smile. With a finger raised up to the camera, NOX waggles and smirks, a slightly odd giggle following up the gesture. You can tell that something has his attention although it's hard tell just what it is that's got him so giggly.

NOX: There's something perverse about this. There's something truly fractured about me as a person that I have the hair on my arms rising and my heart is pumping jus a bit faster as I think about competing in Superbattle. There's something scary about the fact that I'm ridiculously excited over the concept I could get #1 and have to do this whole thing from the jump. There's something really wrong with me that I could enter into the Superbattle in the middle of it with 9 either guys and gals in there ready to beat the shit out of me---and I'd WELCOME that. I've entered into this weird state of being where the danger excites me and the closer I get to hitting the wall, the faster I seem to want to go. That's a very dangerous place for a man to be!

With a big smirk on his face, Joey shrugs his shoulders after boldly procilaiming the dangers of what he's attempting to do. Suddenly NOX breaks out into a big chuckle before he shrugs his shoulders once more. He takes a second, wiping his face briefly before he goes back to talking as the sun continues to fight through clouds behind him.

NOX: And here's the thing, muchachos! Get into that ring and anything can happen. You can break your arm, your leg, tear ligaments and leave different than you ever were before. With all of those bodies in a Superbattle match, all of those elite athletes with something to prove; you can bet everything you've got in your bank account that I am approaching this shit with a 100% seriousness. As REAL as the tension in my voice, I will NOT go out there not feeling it knowing full well that I can get hurt. That's why I am taking this Superbattle 100% seriously! And let me tell you something, you don't get abs the way that I got and you don't get in the sort of shape that I'm in by luck! Conditioning is a way of life to me! The body that I have is ALL that I have so you best believe that while I've been on the outside looking in, I've been putting in the work necessary to stay in the kind of shape I need to be in. Whether I draw #1 or #20, I'm GOING to be in the best shape humanly possible to go the distance. You're not dealing with some dude who gets nice and round in the offseason, I'm ready for battle all day long!

As Joey's saying this, he lifts up his shirt to reveal that the abs Sean Aries once described as "the best in the business" are still intact! NOX punches at his abs with his free hand to show off they're as hard as they've ever been as well! With a scoff, NOX lowers his shirt and speaks in a calm and composed manner.

NOX: Of course, there's just one final thing to add to the mix. I'm going to be in Superbattle, I'll be flying all the way to Australia to take on this massive undertaking. I am flying all across the world to compete in a match that determines who is going to get to challenge Kevin Mordrad one on one for the title at the BIGGEST show of the year. If I'm going to go through all of this and if I'm going to put my body through the war of Superbattle, I might as well win the fuckin' thing. Right?

And with a bit of a shrug and a smirk, Joey NOX tips his invisble hat to the camera and strolls off. We fade out on a graphic for Superbattle 2018.
