Alexander Owens is sitting on the tailgate of a truck. All around him a cold wind blows. He is dressed warmly. The left side of his face is bruised and puffy; the lower lip on that side showing some old rusty crimson on it edge, all a reminder of his time in Baltimore just a few days before.. His face is still and stoic; and the words he offers up are not much different.
Owens: Look around. Feel the air. Taste chill within it. I’ve always loved this time of year; that time Winter is howling its last harsh words before Spring comes. The death and darkness of the winter is soon to fall to the rebirth and renewal of Spring. But Winter, just like it always does, is gonna howl and fight till it loses out to Spring; just like it inevitably does in rotitation. And once it’s beaten it’s gonna lick and wounds and might try again but it just gonna fail. Once the new beginning starts, it can’t be stopped, no matter how hard the Winter rages and roars. It’s just a dog bark at the end of a chain; a raging beast that’s got no teeth.
Looking up at the camera; more of Bane and Dixie’s work; a bloodshot left eyes glowerening at the camera.
Owens: This business, this world, is a funny place at times but it does follow a simple set of rules: everything changes and in time life and progress find a way. On Saturday; my “friends” Bane and Dixie found a way to make a statement; mostly at my expense and I can honestly say that they got me. The master wolf in sheep’s clothing once again pulled the wool over my eyes and left me laid out for it. Except this time he had help; and from the most unlikely of sources. If they was anyone in the world that I thought would keep Bane safe it be Dixie. But no...she choose a different path; for both of them.
Holding a hand up to his face; Owens frames his face and continues to speak.
Owens: You two; you got a pretty good lick on me. And you played my like a fiddle. I should be kicking myself but I always knew, since that day in your study; that you’d be looking to step across from me again. Like I said before; this world and it’s trapping has got you infected Bane. You can’t do anything else. You lack the ability to comprehend a life that does not involve driving from town to town and leaving a small piece of you behind on a piece of canvas. Call it stubbornness, ignorance, or just plain madness but you’ll never leave this world behind. And it’s gonna kill you. But for the first time since we started this song and dance routine I can honestly say I don’t care.
Shifting in his spot; Owens seems barely contained. He’s anger for sure but something deeper has taken him; something weighteir and more raw. Deep down, Owens was hurt. Both physically and emotionally; especially emotionally. Deep down he knew the next step. You could see it in your eyes.
Owens: You may think that you’ve proved something great about yourself; that your some kind of Machiavellian genius; that you once again trick the world and me. But you’re not John. You’re just a pathetic spetere of a man that feeds on the lights and sweat that fills this world. You’re a tough son of bitch, shifty and sadistic but when it comes to your measure as a man you’re an absolute coward and blight to the world.
Owens hops out of the truck’s bed and walks towards the camera; glaring deeply into it.
Owens: You’re poison of the worst kind. You might bring insurmountable action and thrills to this place but in the real world you do nothing but turn everything thing you touch into shit. Every friendship, every relationship, every person; all of it ruined by your obsession. And someday; sooner than you’ll realize; I’m gonna make it crash down and bury you. You’ve tried to take everything from me before; my livelihood, my happiness and two of the dearest friendship I have ever had in this business. But in the end you failed.
Owens steps forward to where his whole face fills the camera; the white of his eyes and his teeth shining in the chilled night light.
Owens:You tried break me but I’ve only come back stronger. You tried to defame me, slander me and make me seem like less than you but that will never happen. My measure as a competent and as a man shall never, can never and will never be destroyed or put into question by scum like you. And as for friendship? I gonna do you and Dixie one last favor; as a friend. After I beat her down and prove why she choose the wrong horse in this race; I’m gonna break you all over again. I don’t care what happen to me but at SuperBattle I’m gonna end this once and for all. I’m gonna do you a kindness i should have done a long time ago: I’m gonna put your worthless, lying, cheating, double crossing, scarred and listless carcass to rest; once and for all.
Owens grabs onto either side of the camera and nearly slams it into his face in a moment of sputtering fuming rage.
Owens: Neither of you have to worry about walking out of SuperBattle as anything cause I’m gonna breaking both of you two's fucking legs and backs. At least then you'll leave this place and give life outside a chance.
Owens shoves the camera out of the way as he turns and gets into the truck behind him; turning it on and peeling out; leaving dust and smoke in his wake.
