Outside of North Pole, Alaska
The snow has fallen over this normally peaceful area of land. A lone log cabin is shown in the distance as smoke billows from its roof top chimney stack. The sound of dogs barking can be heard in the far distance as a closer sound is heard as John Bane is seen, his beard covered with a balaclava with snow and ice hanging off of it. He is dragging what seems like a fallen tree behind him as he drags it towards the cabin. The door opens as Dixie Lanford is seen in the doorway, her normally very nice features are covered in a parka and snow pants. Dixie has a huge hood covering her head as she screams out for Bane that dinner is ready. Bane drops off the felled tree close to a almost covered up chopping block as he takes his harness off and enters the cabin. He takes off his gear as Dixie does the same and Bane warms himself at the fire. The cabin inside looks very nice as Dixie takes the pot off of the top of the fireplace, which seconds as a stove and serves Bane some soup.
Dixie: How much longer are you going to be out there? You know we arent going to be here forever, I dont think we need that much firewood.
Bane sips on his soup and beings to speak.
Bane: Better safe than sorry. This is the only thing keeping us warm. I wont want to have to walk to town every day to get food and warmth.
Dixie smiles as she sits down beside Bane and puts her head on his shoulder.
Dixie: You know I thought you were crazy when you said you wanted to come back to the cabin to train. I always have loved it up here because its always so beautiful, especially in the winter. I always worry about you when you come up here. I realize its far away from everything and you can train very hard when you are up here but I just dont like seeing you like this. Always so serious and focused.
Bane continues to slurp his soup as Dixie continues.
Dixie: Hows the soup?
Bane: Great as always. Look I realize you hate when I am like this. Thats why I brought you up here with me. If I came up here by myself the training would consume me. Its rough up here, the elevation is higher, making it harder to breath. Its cold also when does the same thing. Temperatures dip below zero here at night. I mean we just dont have the fireplace I also made sure to have the fuel tanks filled before the snow fell. Its not often I come up here but when I do I need to make sure everything is working. The generator is working and the boiler is working as well so you will be very comfortable while I do what I need to do. But dont worry Dixie, we can turn the thermostat down a bit and use the very nice blankets to keep warm.
Dixie smiles.
Bane: I promise I wont let this training totally consume me like it did last time I was up here. Ill make sure im back in here for breakfast, dinner and bedtime but you have to understand I did come up here for a reason.
Dixie nods her head as Bane puts his gear on and heads back outside into the darkness to continue his training but not before telling Dixie he would be back at bed time before taking his gun, just in case of four legged foes.
