((Gosh darn it, I f'ed up with the multiple accounts again. This is Paladin. ))
“Ever since I’ve laid out my challenge to Kevin Mordrad, everyone has been warning me that he’s unstoppable. A being with supernatural powers that he uses to rip his opponents to shreds. In simple terms that even you peasants can understand, they say he is a monster.” The camera zooms out to reveal Paladinstanding in a suit with his sunglasses on. “However, it is my belief that all that we really fear when it comes to Mordrad is the unknown. We have yet to see how far he can go when he is being pushed and what his limits truly are. And so, I have come here to the Science of Sports lab in Miami Florida, where we are going to put Mordrad’s abilities under a microscope and see just how unbeatable he truly us. Come on.”
With camera crew in tow, Paladin entered the building behind him through the double doors. Immediately, a man in a white lab coat greeted him and Paladin shook his head. “Everyone, I’d like to introduce Doctor Thaddeus Oswald, expert physicist and sports scientist...or something. Thaddeus, thank you for having me here today.” “My pleasure Paladin, seeing as you practically begged to use our facility-"
Paladin grit his teeth and opened his mouth as though to yell at Thaddeus, and the camera immediately cuts to the next scene. Thaddeus’s hair has been ruffled and his glasses broken, but he is otherwise intact. He now seems to regard Paladin with a hint of fear in his eyes. “Now Dr. Oswald, tell me, how much force does it take to knock a man out? For years we have seen some of the all time greats knock out their opponents in a single blow. Muhammad Ali. Mike Tyson. George Foreman. Me. But how much force does it really take to do so Oswald?”
“Well, it varies from person-to-person. Most scientists estimate that it takes around 600 to 800 pounds of force to cause a man’s brain to essentially whiplash inside a cranial cavity, causing a concussion and someone’s lights to go out.” Oswald pointed to a graph behind him that had a diagram of the human skull.
“Excellent. But, just to make sure the...uh...laymen in the audience understood all that Oswald, could you explain it again in simpler terms.” Paladin said. “Preferably in less syllables.” “Hit someone in the head, their brain bounces and they pass out. Simple enough?” “Don’t get testy with me Doctor!” Paladin said, his elbow rearing back. Oswald held up his arms to block the incoming blow, but Paladin seemed to suddenly remember that he was on camera, and he suppressed his rage long enough to lower his arm. The Brit straightened his tie and sat down.
“And even a man like Kevin Mordrad, who stands at 6 ‘7 and weights a 300 pounds can be knocked out?” Paladin asked. “Of course. No matter how big you are, everyone has a threshold for being knocked out. Granted, it might take a bit more force to knock him out than some men, but the same principles apply.” “And what we have here today, for our little demonstration, is a machine Oswald has been working on that allows us to measure how much force is behind a blow. This will allow us to see whether or not a man like myself can slay a monster like Mordrad. Isn’t that right Oswald?” Paladin asked. “Er, actually, that would cost extra to use-”

The camera faded to black and the words “please stand by” came on screen. When the camera came back on, Paladin and Oswald were standing in front of Oswald’s device. Paladin had removed his sunglasses and suit jacket, and his sleeves were rolled up to reveal his deadly elbows to the world. The device itself was simple, with a small ball about the size of Paladin’s own head perched at the top. Oswald himself looked like Paladin had tried to knock him out, as he now had two wads of tissue paper peeking out from his nostrils.
“Alright, so let’s put it to the test. This ball is Mordrad’s skull.” Paladin’s elbow suddenly flew back and he swung it at the ball so hard that Oswald’s jacket moved as though a gust of wind had brushed by. The ball itself was sent flying back, but eventually resumed position. At the top of the machine, Paladin’s force was recorded. The numbers came up as “850.”
“Hey, look at that Oswald. Not bad for a man who just had a light tube shattered across his back. I can just imagine Mordrad’s skull being caved in. I can practically hear the crunching sound!” Paladin said with a laugh. “Er...yes, very impressive Mr. Rider.” “That’s Paladin to you. Hey, let’s try it with an element of surprise!” Paladin suddenly ran past the ball before spinning around, hitting it from behind. Immediately the device read a new number “950”. 950 pounds of force from one of Paladin’s elbow strikes.
“Alright, I think we’ve done enough testing-” “Just one more. I want to see what it’s like when he is at my mercy, with me standing tall over him ready to finish the job.” Paladin crouched over the ball and pulled his elbow back once more. Immediately, the device began to beep in warning, but Paladin struck anyway. The ball itself was broken off of the device.
“Oh my god, you broke it!” “Take an estimate Doctor. How much force was behind that one huh?” Paladin chuckled as he hefted the padded ball in his hands. It was now dented. “That device cost thousands to create. I didn’t even get you to sign the liability!” Oswaled yelled, kneeling over the device as though it were a friend who had passed away. The scientist began to cry.
“Well, I think that’s all the evidence you need. Mordrad.” Paladin pointed to the camera. “I don’t care how big and tough you think you are. All men’s skulls cave in the same way. And when I challenge you for that championship, only one knight will be left standing, and his name is Paladin!”
