Jesse Drive
Jesse Drive
It’s a dark cold Canadian fall night. The rain pours down hard as the winds pick up with every minute. Inside a cozy home resides the family of Jesse Drive. Reagan asleep in the bedroom, and young baby Heidi asleep in the crib. But JD, he’s lite a candle, and now stares at his family with absolute love. It’s crazy to think that JD almost killed himself accidentally with those drugs and alcohol. Hell, he had all the money in the world just because of his parents and he blew it all away. Until he had nothing. Leaning back in the chair JD closes his eyes and thinks of the Gift of Greatness days. Those days he could have been something, but he blew those opportunities with arrogance and cockiness. Until he became an embarrassment.

But all this changed. JD reinvented himself. He became the hate people installed into his heart. Embracing the darkness of the world Jesse showed everyone that he’s truly someone not to mess around with. As the Evil Entity of PRW he became a first time world champion, a hall of famer, and gained elite status. Opening his eyes he stares at the candlelight. The flickering flame causes wax to run down to the table. Smirking he stands up out of his chair and heads over to the crib.

Starring down at a precious little baby, JD feels his heart become mush. This is the only reason he should stay away from PRW. Little Heidi is the only reason the former champion should not return to the ring and just stay away from those torturing matches he’s known for. Heidi should be the reason he doesn’t go after Ace. With a big stretch from the baby the Outcast steps away and goes to the window. This beautiful house surrounded by trees was all for Reagan and Heidi. All that money he made was for this, for the future, but something in JD lingers, something that he just can’t shake off. This something can only be understood by any professional wrestler.

But one person can… Someone almost in the same similar situation he’s in now. Jesse looks to his family, and heads back to his chair to watch them closely. Smiling, he knows that he’s got more in the tank. Ace Andrews robbed him of glory, money, robbed of a chance to become a dominant champion. Now, he needs to return and reclaim his spot at the top. Looking to the candlelight he grabs his laptop, and begins writing an email.

“Dear Sean,

Who would have thought that my career would be like this? I’m a hall of famer, former undisputed champion, x division champion, one of the best Internet champions of all time, and still… I crave more. Or at least I want more. Sean, I’ve come to think that maybe it’s neither.”

Hearing baby Heidi make a sound out of the crib he looks over to make sure everything is fine. Smirking, he looks down and starts to write again.

“Sean, I’ll be the first one to admit that I looked up to you when I first started PRW. That’s a hard pill to swallow and some serious secret I’ve kept inside all these years, but I’ve always wanted to be as good as Sean Aries. You were the man around here. A legend building his legacy. You had a family, championships, and were one of the elites. Sean, let’s be clear that I am not kissing your ass, we all know JD don’t do that for anyone. However, I am admitting the truth. So now in my career, I reach out to someone I secretly looked up too for help. Because my career seems to have it all. I have the championships, the hall of fame, I have a family now, shit, in a sense I’ve taken a road you have taken. But Aries, your remembered still. People still want to face the legendary Sean Aries. I’ve been gone for two month and people seem to already have forgotten my name. To be honest, that fucking sucks. All the hard work I’ve done seems to be washed away and I’ve become just another guy.”

Dropping his head the Outcast closes his eyes and thinks about Summerfest. His last huge match was against one of his idols in PRW, Joey Nox. It was a match that never was supposed to happen, but it did, and yet people seem to have forgotten all about it already.

“I’m almost jealous in a sense because I thought becoming a hall of famer would allow me to become that. It’s all I ever wanted. But who doesn’t want to be remembered, no one ever wants to be forgotten, and if they say they do, there lying. I’ll be the first one to admit I am sad that people don’t really call me out like they did to you. Sean I will admit that I’d love to get to that level where no matter how long I am gone, or how long I’ve turned down matches, I hope that one day the name Jesse Drive is still around as one of the greatest to ever lace a pair of boots in PRW. Who knows, maybe I could become the next Sean Aries?”

In a joking way JD mumbles to himself that he already is. Smiling he stares at the crib and wonders if his daughter will ever become a wrestler. If she doesn’t, at least she can watch as a fan and know that her father was one of the greats. For her to know this, his name needs to be remembered forever.

“Sean, I am asking you for just one thing, I would like you to step back into the squared circle and face me at the next pay per view. At this point I am sure your closing this email, but please don’t stop reading. This is a serious offer. See, I could easily take the easy way out and declare my title rematch and bitch how I deserve to have my title back. Shit, the old JD would do that and he would get his way like a spoiled child, but Sean I am not doing that. I’m not asking Bane for a x title shot, or even going after the Internet title, because in the end would winning one of those matches have me be remembered? I can’t predict the future Sean. No one can. But I know one thing, Sean Aries vs Jesse Drive would be remembered. Sean Aries vs Jesse Drive would be one match that people all around the world would want to watch. Two returning superstars, two hall of famers, two former champions, two fathers collecting a massive payout for their families, it would be one of the best matches PRW has seen all year and it’s just straight one on one competition to see who the better man is.”

Jesse looks out the window and watches the rain pour down harder. Reagan now walks into the room and just lays on the couch beside the crib. Looking at Jesse she knows what he is doing and remains quite.

“Sean, to do this, I need you to return to PRW.”

JD hits send and waits for the confirmation. Once he sees the words “SENT” he closes the laptop and walks to the window to watch the storm.

“Why go back Jesse? Why do this to yourself? Why put your family through all this pain once again?”

JD looks to Reagan…

“Because being a wrestler, is who I am…”
