The camera cuts to a small side room in the arena backstage. It's been done up in a rather shabby and tacky manner to look like a showman's stage or a prize booth. Red curtains of questionable quality have obviously been taped to the wall, which has been covered in black card with bright purple and green stars drawn on in crayon. In front of this horrendous backdrop stands La Bruja de la Lucha, latest addition to the PRW women's roster. She doesn't seem to be paying attention to the camera at all, instead she's looking intently at her phone, tapping the screen occasionally and muttering under her breath.
Next to her stands her comically proportioned manager; Andrew Morgan. The much taller man hovers by her side, slightly crouched, obviously trying to fit himself in the frame that is fixed to focus on La Bruja. He coughs nervously, obviously trying to grab the Luchadora's attention. No response.
Andrew: Right....err....I'll start this off then shall I?
Still no response from Bruja, who simply keeps tapping on her phone.
Andrew:...Okay. Right. Hello there, fine folks at PRW. This is, uh, this is my client. La Bruja de la Lucha!
He pauses for a moment almost as if expecting some crowd reaction. They're backstage though. No crowd noise occurs.
Andrew: ...And today, we're, uh, we're here to let you know that she's here on the scene. Yeah, that's right. Watch out ladies, 'cause little miss witchy over here is going to shake things up around here. She's looking for some-
La Bruja: OLE!
Andrew: -Bloody hell! What the hell was that about?!
La Bruja: Me clasificaron en Hufflepuff!
Andrew: What...I...That has nothing to do with what we're doing right now! Look, are you going to pay attention or not?
La Bruja sighs and rolls her eyes, but puts away the phone and smiles at the camera. Andrew nods and continues to address the camera.
Andrew: Right. Thank you. Now, La Bruja here is looking for a challenge. And so, since we apparently felt that it would be unfair to choose anyone ourselves, we went and got special permission from the Commissioner to be able to choose an opponent by chance.
There is a slight strain in Andrew's voice as he tries not to side-eye his client. La Bruja for her part, seems to be oblivious to the thinly veiled ire.
Andrew: And so....I can't believe I'm going to say this...And so; Bring on the wheel!
He gestures dramatically to the side, and the camera pans past La Bruja to reveal a large structure, covered by a sparkly sequined purple sheet. La Bruja grins at Andrew, who massages his face and resignedly nods for her to continue. She whips of the cover with flair, to reveal a giant selection wheel, divided into many segments, each with a face and a name attached.
La Bruja: Ta Daa! Es la rueda de la fortuna. Quien va a ser escogido? Vamos a averiguar!
Andrew: This was her making, not mine by the way, just so you know. Anyway. There we are. As you can see there is a face and name for each segment, and La Bruja will spin the wheel, randomly selecting her oppo-wait. Hold on just a minute here. What's going on? Why is there only-?
La Bruja ignores her manager, and gives the wheel a mighty spin. For a moment all that is seen is the wheel spinning in a blur of colours; La Bruja, hands on hips and grinning like the Joker; and Andrew, a baffled expression on his face as the two of them watch the wheel spin, clacking away. Eventually the wheel slows down, the clacks of the "selection triangle thingy" (as it has been labelled on the device itself) become less frequent. And slower. And slower. And slower. Until La Bruja just grabs the wheel and stops it by hand. It doesn't matter anyway, because all of the options are the same. La Bruja makes a big show of checking to see what has been picked, then turns to Andrews, nudging him. Andrews removes his hand from his face long enough to glare despondently into the camera.
Andrew: It's Regan Crowe. Of course it's bloody Regan Crowe, she's the only bloody name on the whole bloody wheel!
La Bruja cuts across him as he continues to mutter darkly to himself. Getting right up in front of the camera, she points to the wheel and then at her self.
La Bruja: Regan Crowe! Tu y yo vamos a tener un partido. Vamos a tenerlo aqui mismo, ahora mismo! Preparate para la magia de la bruja de la lucha tu pequenya loca rubia!
She mimes dropping a mic and stands there, arms folded and staring intently at the camera. From behind her, Andrew pokes his head into view.
Andrew: Yeah....uhh....she, definitely didn't talk about your height. Or call you crazy.
La Bruja nods and strides offscreen, leaving Andrew to stand there awkwardly and address Regan.
Andrew: Right. See you in the ring...I guess?
