The scene opens up on a quiet scene. Its the middle of a forest, with the sun just slowly peeking its head over the horizon giving the sky a nice auburn glow. The trees are bristling with dew, and the entire scene is so serene, that if this was a Disney film, you'd be seeing a fair skinned Princess singing and bringing in butterflies and rabbits. A few small critters do run around, and there is even the sounds of crickets as background noise. After a few moments though, the camera turns and after a few moments we see a waving hand that reveals that Ace Andrews is sitting in a tree seat. Ace has on all the hunting gear, a nice thick fur lined deer hunters cap, and camouflage clothes, keeping him warm and out of vision. A few moments later the camera blurs and when it comes back, the angle is elevated, and right beside Ace. Ace has in his hands a Remington 780 with a scope, currently held across his lap and he takes a moment to check the magazine again, before slipping his .270 Win into the chamber and loading the gun. With his set up complete, Ace turns to look at the camera and smiles, eyes taking a final roam of the forest and then back to the camera, speaking in a soft whisper so as to not disturb the wildlife
Ace Andrews: "Hey PRW. Sorry I haven't been around much this past few weeks. Trying to focus on being a better Dad, and getting myself into proper ring shape. I think we can all agree that at SuperBattle I definitely had some rust to shake off. That's how a chump like Wulfric managed to sneak me out from behind. I wasn't paying enough attention. But at SummerFest, I'm going to be ready. I can promise you that."
A light crackling can be heard breaking the noise of the forest, and Ace raises a single finger, before reaching down and lifting up a scope. He takes a look through it, gaze slowly shifting until he shakes his head and sets down his scope
Ace Andrews: "Eight points. Can do better then that. Now, where was I....uh yes. SummerFest."
Ace watches for a moment and then turns to look back into the camera and smiles.
Ace Andrews: "Now, Wulfric. I may not have been at PRW lately, but I do know where I have been. I've been in your head. On your mind. Plaguing your every thought. Every moment of the day consuming you. Driving you crazy. Its like you've got the taste of my blood on your tongue. My scent in your nostrils. The hunt pushing you forward. Constantly getting you more and more ready for the PPV. You're practically salivating at the thought of getting me in that ring, aren't you Wulfric? And thats what makes it so easy for me to trip you up, like I did just last week."
"How did it feel, Wolf Boy? Hearing that bell ring, and knowing you'd just lost to a clown? And all because I paid the right sound technician off, just to let you have a taste of me. Hearing that music, I can almost imagine what was going through your mind. Your chance to sink your claws in me. To get revenge for my ambush a few weeks ago. That's all thats on your mind right now, isn't it? All those times I've upstaged you. Made you look like a chump, made you look weak. And you can't stand it. I can practically hear your blood bubbling from here. And so when that music hit...you lost your focus. And you got beaten by a clown. Man, that must be embarrassing."
Ace is distracted again by the sound of cracking and he turns around and raises his scope. Looking through it, he creases an eyebrow and then shakes his head.
Ace Andrews: "Only a six pointer. Not yet."
Ace sets down his scope and turns back to the camera and speaking softly again.
Ace Andrews: "Now, what you did after that match, tearing apart Bubsey just to try and send me a message? It was a nice try. But here's the difference between you and me. For all your talk of hunting and mauling, all you've shown me is that you are /still/ just a man. Just another man. Prone, quite frequently, to making mistakes. You talk a big game, you and that fat fella that talks for you, but you still don't really understand what waters you're wading into. You've locked your crosshairs on me, and you're coming after me, all because you couldn't finish the job at SuperBattle. You've done your research, Wulfric. You're coming after me because you know who I am. You know what I've done. And so you're salivating, because you see this big ten point buck stumbling at the back of the pack. Trying to keep up with all the young proud leaders. And you think that makes me an easy target for a quick kill. Its almost merciful. One simple match at SummerFest, you can put me out of my misery and make your name at my expense."
"But what you fail to recognise, is the older a deer gets, the wiser he gets. He can't run like the youngsters. Can't hide as well. He's not quick enough to dodge or weave through the bushes. So when he reaches a certain age, he has to stop playing by the regular rules. He has to start playing by his own. Instead of focusing on his body, he focuses on his mind. And that makes him even more dangerous then ever before. Because the more you learn to use your brain, the more you realise how effective you can be with just a little patience, and a proper plan."
"PRW has seen a lot of sides of me. They've seen my bastard side. My greedy side. My good side which lets be honest, is every side. They've seen my nice guy side, my Daddy side, and my mentor side. And through it all, I've always shown that my mind is constantly working, constantly planning. Back-up after back-up. Fail-Proof after Fail-Proof. And now....now my knees ache that little more when I get up in the morning. I find myself resting with a lot more ice packs then I once did. I take a little while longer to climb back up after a bad landing, and I've lost a step in the speed that made me the best. But through all that....I've never lost my mental edge. Instead I've refined it."
"Thats what makes me so dangerous to you, Wulfric. That's what makes your decision to isolate me so much worse. Because I may be older. I may be rusty. I can be slower, and weaker, and stumbling, but I will always /always/ be smarter then you. You think I demanded a Submission Match without thinking this thing through entirely? You think I wanted this match, just to end up in your Howl? I wanted this match, because it plays to my strengths. You can maul me. You can ambush me. You can beat me down, and whoop my ass. You can hurt my body, and you can break my bones...but you will never /ever/ break my spirit."
There's another crackling of leaves, and Ace turns again. Raising his scope, he smiles as he sees something he likes and nods his head.
Ace Andrews: "Three Points. Perfect."
Ace sets the scope down and raises up his rifle. Setting the butt against his shoulder, he braces himself as he gazes down the scope and the camera pans out to see a small three point deer has popped his head through some shrubs about a hundred yards away. The deer lazily munches on some leaves, and Ace keeps his focus and just waits. It takes a few minutes, but finally the deer cocks his head as if he heard something, and the next moment there's a rushing and a rustling from the bushes and a big silver furred wolf leaps out....
**BANG**
The wolf goes down quick and the deer takes off. Ace lowers his rifle, smoke still billowing from the barrel, and he raises his scope, looking at the wolf and nodding just once. Setting aside his rifle, he turns back to the camera with a small smile.
Ace Andrews: "Been reports of a wolf terrorizing the local wildlife. And isn't it funny just how quickly that can happen? How quickly one can go from being the Hunter to the Huntered? How quickly the Prey can learn and adapt? You almost got me at SuperBattle, Wulfric. But thats as close as you get. Almost. Because PRW will always be my forest. And even when you think you can get around me...when you think you can take me down....I'll find a way to adapt and survive."
"Only one of us gets to escape SummerFest with our pride, Wulfric. Only one of us gets to walk out of that arena with their head held high. For the other man, he knows he has given up. Has given up his pride. Given up his spirit. And that man....it won't be you."
"At SummerFest, its Wolf Hunting Season. Now, be a good bitch, and play dead."
And with that Ace climbs down from the tree with his rifle, and the camera cuts out on the Billionaire Brawler quietly strolling towards his trophy.
