It's early on a Sunday morning. The birds are chirping and the sun is shining. The sound of the early morning and nature colliding with the sounds of grunting. The camera pans to the right where there in his backyard we've got Joey NOX. A shirtless bandanna (!) wearing Joey NOX is doing some push ups, grunting out each one he does while the sun bears down on him. NOX finishes up a set of push ups and pulls himself up to his feet. He dusts off his hands and slowly approaches the camera, the sweaty resident to the PRW Hall of Fame approaching the camera. NOX looks to be in good spirits and he flashes a $1,000, 000 smile as he picks up a towel off of a chair and begins to wipe himself off. In the process of doing so, Joey NOX starts to speak!
NOX: You know what, Jesse? I gotta give you credit, man. I expected you to do something different but to your credit, you did the SAME old stuff you always did---AND I'M HAPPY! As per the usual you said a lot of words, your mile a minute mouth writing this BIG BIG check that we all know you can't cash. That said, I'm not even talking about that right now because I FIGURED it out! I finally figured you out.
NOX theows the towel down and slowly approaches the camera, flexing his abs while he walks over. When he's got a clear shot, Joey speaks in a cool, calm and upbeat tone.
NOX: Jesse everything you say comes back to your legacy, right? Well everything about your legacy, and I finally pieced this together, is just a thinly veiled cry for respect. After all you're a grown ass man out here trying to beg for people to take you seriously and while that's sad, I can at least understand it. And so I spend the time listening to you talk and just letting the wheels in my head churn around as to why you're not respected it AND THEN it came to me!
NOX points to his head and then makes a motion with his hand, a graphic popping up underneath him.
NOX: The IT factor.
Sure enough, The It Factor appears in bold on the graphic. Joey NOX makes a wiping gesture with his hand and the graphic disappears like smoke. With a shrug, Joey NOX mouths it again at the camera, making sure to drive the idea home. After such a stupid gesture, NOX cracks a little smirk and moves on verbally, his hands still gesturing everywhere as he speaks.
NOX: Some people call it moxie, some people call it presence, some people call it star power or whatever it is you wanna call it, the IT factor is what stands out to me. See Jesse Drive the IT factor is this undescribable factor that takes GREAT wrestlers and makes them into GREAT legends. See JD, the IT factor is one of those things, man. You either got it you don't got it; you're either born with it or you're not. The It Factor is what separates Ric Flair from Buddy Landel. The IT Factor is what separates Hulk Hogan from Jesse Ventura. It's what separates the Fantastics from the Rock and Roll Express! There's a lot of people who run around talking about pot, fatherhood and video games but there's only one Sean Aries. A lot of guys claim to be big talkers and capable of giving people all time tongue lashings but there's JUST ONE Alex LeBlanc. You can roll out 1,000,000 loud Europeans but there's ONE Razer in the world. Sometimes the cloth's different for some of us, man. It's that little something that can't be defined nor described! And maybe to some of these people, you just don't have it.
Joey NOX offers up a little shrug, his hands still moving as he's now pacing back and forth. He's feeling it now, always making sure to turn back in time towards the camera to make a point. As he paces, he rants along with each step and his brain struggles to battle his mouth for control.
NOX: And you know what JD? I'm not a bragger and I'm not going to claim that I have it either. I'd be a fool to claim I did! That's for other people to decide! Here's what I will say though! Here's what I CAN absolutely say.
When I talk, when I speak, when these words start flawing and flooding out of my mouth? People stop and listen. Every single word I say is like a life extender to them! They gather around their TVs and their smart phones! They sit by their laptops and they type and talk about EVERY single thing I say! That's a power, JD! That's a power I got! That's a power that I don't know if it's the IT factor or what it is but I GOTTA TELL YA, it's working for me. I don't NEED to beg for credibility or respect because these people, the people who pay for the tickets and the people who buy the PPVs? They seem to be giving it to me. I must have something and maybe that something IS the It Factor---but one thing I can say is that you don't have it. WHATEVER IT IS----You ain't got it, JD.
Joey pauses. He turns to the camera and lets his hands fall by his side. The camera zooms in on his face as a serious Joey NOX makes sure to get in tight. His eyes are fired up and his goatee seems to steam with the heat coming out of his mouth. He talks with passion and power, all for the sole point of delivering a message.
NOX: Jesse you can expand your vocabulary, you can stretch the limits of your words and you can try to give them meaning! You can try to give yourself all the plaudits and you can pat yourself on the ass and do cartwheels to your name getting dropped if you want! You can try to talk above, around or through the audience but man, it's NOT gonna make a difference! To these people, the ones you jump between loving and hating?! You don't have IT! You ain't got the IT factor! They don't SEE YOU the way YOU BELIEVE you should be seen well that's just too damn bad, Jesse! Because no matter how many times you shit talk me and no matter how many times you shout about being the best, you just don't have it.
All you have is your title. For now.
Joey takes a brief breath, just enough to keep him going. He's still fired up as the words continue to flow out of his mouth, his eyes ready to pop out of his head with EACH and every word.
NOX: And that brings us to Summerfest, JD. See I just told you what you want; your legacy, legitimacy, credibility, the opportunity to be seen on the same level of the elites? Not gonna happen. Like Dray said to Paul Pierce, they don't love you like that. They don't see you the way that you want them to and it doesn't matter how many times you pout or whine, what's DONE is done. So all you got man is a title---and that title is all I want! Jesse Drive you're fighting for bullshit like pride, credibility and bragging rights?! I'm fighting for the BELT! For however many pounds of gold and diamonds it has, I WANT IT! YOU'RE FIGHTING FOR SOMETHING FAKE BUT I'M FIGHTING FOR THE TITLE AND IT'S REALER THAN ANYTHING! I want EVERY bit of it and if I gotta run through you like you a steamroller then GUESS WHAT?! I'M GONNA DO IT! I'M GETTING THE BELT AND WHEN I'M STANDING OVER YOUR BROKEN ASS WITH MY BELT IN MY HAND AND YOU SEE MY AURA GLOWING OVER YOU?! YOU'LL KNOW WHAT THE IT FACTOR IS!
NOX takes one big deep breath and closes his eyes. He slowly opens them and reveals the dead seriousness on his face. The flow of the interview is gone. It's just one man and the final seconds remaining of cold, harsh reality.
NOX: And maybe then you'll finally realize that deep down inside, you've always known you didn't have it. Whatever IT is.
Joey scoffs and then walks off, tipping over his chair as he does so.
