I'm watching you sleep.
An impressive pyrotechnics show bursts to life on the stage signaling the official beginning to PRW Uprising 2012. The crowd is cheering wildly, eagerly awaiting the oncoming show. The enthusiasm is palpable as we go over the commentary table.

Brunswick: Hello everyone and welcome to PRW Uprising! I’m Josh Brunswick alongside my commentary partner Doug Smith and Doug; we have a great show on our hands.

Smith: No doubt, we have several great matches on deck tonight. Levitt vs An Unknown Opponent, Onslaught vs Rok and Bukowski, Turner vs Canary Kid, Girotti vs Serial, Wrath vs Xclusiv and our blockbuster main event where Sean Aries takes on the Champion Ninja MAGIC. I’m so excited!

Brunswick: But before all that, we have what should be a good one as the enigmatic and mysterious relative newcomer Verdugo takes on the fiery and unbalanced rookie Mark Graves where the new point system will be put into place.

Smith: Well we won’t delay any further; let’s get this show on the road!

The buzz from the crowd is palpable. The sold out Madison Square Garden is one their feet and cheering their heads off with anticipation. The anticipation is broken once the first burst of sound of the show comes on over the loudspeakers.

Make a Wish; it'll be your last

The quote prompts the crowd to engage in an experiment in conditioning that would make Pavlov proud and instinctively begin booing. There is, however, a small section of the smarkish New York crowd who is cheering the man behind the curtain, no doubt the only fans he actually has. The opening chanting of Worldwide Choppers does get a few people on their feet though.

(Turkey)
Sen kalk, bir minik mikrofonunu getir
Bak jak burada mikrofonuna tak
Kağıt kalem bir de ilham alınacak
Tam gaz choppers, havada düşman avına çıkalım
Akalım, haydi bu battle’ı kazanalım

The arena is bathed in a dark red light as Mark Graves comes out wearing a jet black long coat with the Cyanide Title wrapped around it at the waist and wearing red MMA gloves. He reaches the top of the entrance ramp but stops and stares at the ground, breathing in an out so deeply his shoulders were moving.

Follow me, all around the planet, I run the gamut on Sickology
They could never manage, we do damage wit’ no apology
Pick ‘em off the planet, got a little manic ’cause I gotta be
Frantic, I’ma jam it ’cause I’m an oddity

Graves then raises his head and looks forward to meet the ring ropes. He then feints a few steps but still does not start walking. Instead, he stands there and hops around, clapping to the beat but not budging a bit. The crowd does not buy any of these attempts to pump them up and instead starts booing, feeling that Graves is stalling for time.

If you anybody, you notice it
Tech is the pinnacle, not an identical soul as it
Loaded as cold as the polar get, wrote it quick and they quoted it

Graves starts to move around to the beat and flow, yet still does not move. The crowd is getting restless, demanding that Graves start to walk but Graves does not hear them. Instead, he bends his knees and crouches down until he’s almost at the ground, rhythmically moving his arms around to the escalating beat. The crowd continues to toss boos his way but Graves does not seem to acknowledge them in the slightest. He then crouches even further until he’s almost completely on the ground.

Brunswick: Is he going to start walking any time soon or is he just going to sit there?

Smith: Is there anything that you won’t criticize from Graves? He’s doing his own thing. Why can’t you respect that?

Brunswick: Considering how he threatened me yesterday, you could probably see why I wouldn’t really be endeared to this guy.

Smith: Speaking of yesterday, do you have any idea as to what the alleged “wild card” is.

Brunswick: I don’t know, but knowing Graves, it’s most likely a gun.

And I be the only chopper that’s tossed in the brothel
You said it’s pathetic, my head is off in the taco
I sped and you bled and you in the coffin when I go
I’m light years
Ahead of my peers
Want some, you can come bring it right here

As soon as the hook begins, Graves does an athletic forward roll and, in one fluid motion, jumps right into the air as soon as he reaches his feet. As he makes the jump, red sparks fall from the ceiling and onto the ramp. Graves’ feet touch the ground and he immediately raises both arms in the air before yelling out “Future of PRW!” Graves then confidently strides down the ramp, slowly and steadily, taking more than enough time to reach the ring.

Can’t clown me
Don’t come ’round me
Bow down, I was crowned when they found me

Graves points down to the ground and yells out “you better bow down” before spreading his arms apart to let more red sparks rain down on the arena.

(Alabama)

What if I ran into you wit’ a Pogo stick?
Hopped up on top of you rappers like a Jehovah’s Witness?
Wit’ a photo of Jesus and a paper pamphlet
And I threw up more churches like I was playin’ Hamlet?

Graves then walks by the fans at the rampside, ignoring the fact that most of them completely hate him. He does give a high five to the one fan ballsy enough to wear a Mark Graves t-shirt as well as slap a sign that read “Mark Graves=Heavy Metal Bitch” out of a fan’s hands. The fan started tossing curses at Graves but the Guardian of Metal did not mind and just raised his hands in the air before walking towards the ring.

Slumerican is out of control
Heat it up, beat it up, then I gotta go
But I’m a dump truck, just send another load
Peter Piper dump a pile of peppers down your throats
Wit’ an alien probe

As the chorus comes back on the speakers, Graves runs toward the ring and hops right up on the apron. He shakes the ropes a few times before slinging himself over the ropes and landing in the ring with a somersault. Graves first takes the title off his waist and raises it over his head arrogantly before handing it off to the referee. Graves then rips the black longcoat off and throws it into the crowd. He luckily managed to get the coat into the crowd on the first throw too. The fan who caught it did not want to throw it back. Graves then points in the air dramatically. He holds the point for a few seconds before dropping it to the ground as a massive burst of red fireworks erupts from each ring post and from above the ring.

Twista! (Chicago)

Like I gotta focus up in my rhythm
Or loosen the venom and hit ‘em and give ‘em astig-a-ma-tism
And then I’ma spit ‘em somethin’ so full of vengeance
That everybody’ll wanna devour the pieces of my enemies ’cause of cannibalism

Graves runs towards the turnbuckles and jumps up to the top of them, raising fist in the air and yelling “Next X-Division Champ!” before backflipping off and getting back in the center of the ring. He motions putting the title belt on around his stomach before raising both hands in the air one final time.

Like a helicopter when the words fly
Entire families all the way out to you girl die
If I catch you fuckin’ with the most intricate lyricists
Or even try to stop us ’cause we choppers and we worldwide
And I’m

I’m light years
Ahead of my peers
Want some, you can come bring it right here

Graves then stands resolute in the center of the ring and stares right at the entrance ramp. The crowd is booing as Worldwide Choppers fades out over the speakers and for a while there’s nothing. Graves begins to get restless and proceeds to pace back and forth in the ring as the crowd continues to toss various insults at him. Graves frustratingly runs his hand through his hair and still impatiently awaits for Verdugo to make his entrance.

(TBC by Verdugo. Good Luck! Hope to have a good one!)

PICK ME APART
THEN PICK UP THE PIECES
I'M UNEVEN!!!

And with that, the next entrant into this match is set to make his way to the ring. All attention is focused onto the top of the ramp, as the lovely Bellatrix makes her way out of the back. Much like his first match, Verdugo is nowhere to be seen yet... Bellatrix stands on the top of the ramp and stares down into the ring at Mark Graves, who walks up to the ropes and starts to ask about the whereabouts of his opponent. Bellatrix just shakes her head and turns to face the doorway of the ramp. And out steps the mysterious Verdugo. Bellatrix starts to lead her way down the ramp, her man in tow.

Brunswick - This match is going to be interesting in the fact that Graves has stated he has a 'wildcard' up his sleeve. But what I want to know is, where is the other guy that Verdugo has been seen walking around here with? That could come into play here tonight, I would think!

As the song picks up in intensity, so does Verdugo. His limbs start to shake, and his head rolls on his shoulders! Clearly he's ready for whatever Graves will throw at him tonight. Dressed head to toe in his regular black military style suit, he starts to pick up the pace to the ring whilst Saget comes onto the PA system with the introduction.

Bob Saget - And his opponent, making his way to the ring out of part's unknown! Being accompanied by Bellatrix Carpathia - VERDUGO!

As if he were waiting for a cue, the masked man starts to charge to the ring from here, running right past his valet. Graves starts to position himself seeing the charge coming! Verdugo leaps up and slides into the ring underneath the bottom rope.... But in a twist before he can even get to his feet, Graves charges over and drops his elbows right into the back of the masked man's head! Following that up with a complete, pummeling attack, hoping to keep Verdugo grounded. The official tries to get between the two, and after Graves takes a step back, the official finally calls for the ringing of the bell.

DING DING DING!

Smith - HERE WE GO! Uprising 2012 is officially underway! And Mark Graves is wasting NO time getting the party started!

OOC - Thanks man, you too!

Graves lets Verdugo get to his feet but as soon as the masked newcomer reaches a vertical base, the Heavy Metal Snail runs toward him and socks him in the gut. Graves then hits another punch to the gut, and then another, and another, each one delivered with great control and surprising power for a guy Graves’ size. Despite the quality of punches, Verdugo does not balk at the strikes delivered from his smaller opponent. The pre match attack and initial strikes seem to have no effect on him. When Graves throws another punch, Verdugo simply catches it in his hand. With the hand all but laced up, Verdugo decides to showcase his own striking power and palms Graves firmly in the chest with his free hand. Graves goes to clutch his chest as Verdugo lets go of his hand. However, Graves is not given the respite and instead gets cold clocked in the face with a forearm shot from Verdugo. Verdugo then throws several hooks at Graves head, rocking him back and forth with each shot.

Graves is now on rubber legs, and The MAGGOT seeks to capitalize by uppercutting Graves right off of his feet. He does not get the opportunity to make a cover though, as Graves rolls back to his feet just as quickly as he was sent down. Verdugo just goes right back on the attack, hitting him in the stomach with running knee. With Graves doubled over, Verdugo looks to send him to the ground again with a series of clubbing forearms to the back of Graves. When this is not enough to send the Heavy Metal Snail to the ground, Verdugo simply props him back up and thrusts his hand right to Graves’ throat. Graves shows enough ring presence to anticipate the strike and catches the hand before it makes contact with his neck. Graves quickly creates distance between him and Verdugo by driving a boot right into the Mysterious Man’s navel.

Graves then winds up and strikes Verdugo in the chest with a palm of his own. He makes contact with a loud THWACK and Verdugo reels back a bit. Graves then pushes the attack, stepping towards Verdugo and hitting him in the chest with an array of knife edge chops, all hitting with the sound of an axe against a tree. Graves then elbowed Verdugo in the temple before spinning around and hitting the Masked One with a back elbow right in the nose. The Guardian of Metal pressed his assault, pounding Verdugo in the side with a roundhouse kick before stunning him with a kneeling jawbreaker. Verdugo bent down staggered, prompting Graves to hit him with a few sharp kicks to the gut before taking the brawler to his knees with a stomp to the back.

Smith: This is certainly a different Mark Graves then what we’ve seen. We usually see Graves being very technical but here he’s coming in with the stiff shots and the brawling.

Brunswick: Well Graves did say he was changing his game. Maybe he was improving his strike game in that makeshift gym of his.

Smith: And it’s clear that Verdugo wasn’t expecting this. Graves is taking it to him.

Now with Verdugo on his knees, Graves seeks to solidify his momentum in this match and begins throwing some impressive puro kicks to Verdugo’s chest. He can only get three kicks off though, as The Masked Brawler catches his leg on the Heavy Metal Snail and begins to stand up. Graves senses the danger and immediately throws his free leg up with an enziguri attempt. Verdugo shows great foresight and ducks his head out of the, causing Graves’ foot to make contact with the air. When Graves got back to the ground, Verdugo simply punched him in the back to the head, causing Graves to stumble over a bit. With Graves’ back still turned to him, Verdugo sends Graves to his knees with a vicious kick to the lower vertebra. Verdugo then runs off the ropes and nearly decapitates Graves with a big boot. The boot sends the Guardian of Metal to his back and Verdugo seeks to keep him there by kneeling over Graves’ chest and striking him with punches to the head. Eric Steele immediately hounds Verdugo and starts the count. Verdugo wants to do some damage but he doesn’t want to punish Graves (not yet anyways) and gets off of Graves after 3.

Verdugo then allows Graves to get back to his feet but as soon as he did, The MAGGOT swarms him with a backfist to the jaw followed by a vicious toe kick to the chest. Verdugo puts Graves on rubber legs with a headbutt followed up by a whip into the turnbuckles. As soon as Graves’ back made contact with the padded steel, Verdugo shoved his arm right into Graves’ neck with a corner clothesline. With Graves’ backed up in the corner, The Mysterious but not quite so Handsome Stranger sought to manhandle Graves in the corner, pummeling him over the head with several forearms until the Eric Steele counted to 4. Verdugo makes a clean break, only to come back and hit Graves with some knife edge chops of his own. While they did not have the same stiffness of Graves’ chops, they had way more power, so much so that Graves looked to be out of it when the Masked Man broke again. Bellatrix Carpathia looks on with a satisfied yet no less subtle smile as Verdugo saunters his way over to the opposite turnbuckle and sized Graves up in the other corner. With the speed and ferocity of a freight train, Verdugo bursts right out of the corner, only for Graves (having long since taken the time to recover in the corner) to stop him dead in his tracks with a rolling wheel kick to the chest.

Brunswick: God, the sound of that kick to Verdugo’s chest! I bet they could hear that across the city!

Smith: Graves’ training is definitely starting to pay off here. The momentum of this match is changing on a dime and I love every minute of it.

Verdugo lurches back from the kick as Graves ran off the ropes and cuts Verdugo down to size with a chop block to the knee. Now in a kneeling position, Graves takes Verdugo to his stomach with a dropkick to the back of the head. Graves then moves to Verdugo’s head and strikes him with a gaggle of knees in an attempt to pacify his larger opponent. While the blows hurt, they were hardly enough to nullify Verdugo’s conditioning. The MAGGOT drives his hands into the mat and pushes himself to his feet, Graves’ knees still striking his head. Graves was so focused on delivering the hurt to Verdugo, he didn’t notice Verdugo’s hands as he drove them into his stomach and pushed his opponent away. The distance created allows Verdugo to mount some offense as he sends his palm in the air and brings it across Graves’ chest with a savage open hand chop. The Heavy Metal Snail reels a bit at the blow, but the look on his face is more angry than hurt. In a rage, Graves turns toward his opponent and sends him back with an overhand chop of his own. It was hard to tell from under the mask if Verdugo was feeling any pain, but he did reel back a bit from the chop.

Nevertheless, Verdugo remained undaunted and decided that if Graves was inviting him to play, he would play. He accepted the invitation with another open handed chop, this one louder and stiffer than the last one. Graves wasn’t about to let Verdugo get the last word and chops him even harder. This sparks off a proverbial Lensman Arms Race of chops, each man hitting the other with a more powerful version of the chop before. They keep going, the chops getting more stiff, more powerful, and above all else, faster. Graves’ chest got redder as the fabric on Verdugo’s jacket broke off more and more. Eventually, it was Verdugo who won out in the exchange by shifting his chops from Graves’ chest to his face and palmed him in the face repeatedly until Graves was backed into the ropes.

Brunswick: My god! How are either of those two still standing! Those chops were brutal!

Smith: I’m surprised nobody’s bleeding over here to be perfectly honest.

Verdugo then runs towards Graves but The Heavy Metal Snail has the move scouted and proceeds to backdrop Verdugo over the ropes. Verdugo shows some surprising athleticism as he catches himself and ends up on the apron, bringing Graves’ back across the ropes in the process. Bellatrix gives a small golf clap to the performance, confident that her associate now has control of the match back. This hope is quickly dashed as Verdugo comes back into the ring and throws a punch at Graves only for Graves to catch it in between his hands. Graves quickly twists around and hooks his leg around Verdugo, taking him to the mat with a Russian Legsweep. Graves then covers Verdugo but only gets a one count. Both men are now back on their feet, whoever controls the match still remains uncertain. The two take a brief second to think of a new strategy before engaging each other anew.

As the action slows, Verdugo takes a deep breath underneath the warm mask. He knows that he can go punch for punch with Graves, one thing that he is unsure of though is how far can he go if the pace of the match were to keep up at that speed! Deciding that he's got to slow down this momentum, his next offensive scheme comes to mind. Meanwhile on the other side of the ring, apparently so does Graves' and he starts to come back across the squared-circle into the direction of his opponent. Verdugo was hoping that Graves would be the first one to flinch here, and he's practically licking his lips once he does. The Masked man starts to charge out of the corner, unbeknownst to anyone but him though this is only a ploy.

Graves falls right into the trap though, the sudden movement from Verdugo was enough to force him to put a pause in his step. This is all the time the MAGGOT needed to charge in even closer, but as Graves prepares himself for what appears to be a torso based attack, the mysterious Verdugo vanishes right before his eyes! Showing some speed, and agility still, Verdugo drops to the canvas and reaches up, hooking Graves by the trousers, he pulls the smaller man over, shifting him on his shoulders only to drop him to the mat with a simple yet effective for it's purpose FIREMAN'S CARRY which the masked marauder follows up swiftly with a choking HEADLOCK keeping a now frustrated, and disappointed Mark Graves at bay on the mat. With the match at a slower pace for the time being, Bellatrix leans into the ring and starts to shout words of encouragement to her associate. Mixing in some directions here and there, because every so often the man from 'Parts Unknown' will relinquish the hold for a moment to deliver a swift, and painful closed fist SUCCESSION OF PUNCHES to the face and head, usually resulting in the flailing about of Graves' body.

Brunswick - Mark Graves came out in the early goings of this match and set the speed pretty quickly. That seems to work in the favor of a guy that size, especially when compared to the size of Verdugo. That seemed to work well for him, so I have to question the tactic of exchanging blows.

Smith - That one sort of blew up in his face, but he's not done. This match is so far from being over, you can't even see the end in sight yet. I'm sure that Mark won't just take this laying down... I doesn't look so good right now but he'll get back up!

It's about this time that Graves starts to try to spin, and turn his way out of the hold. On one hand he knows that he won't likely sustain enough damage down here to be put out of the match, but on the other hand he knows that moves like this are designed to wear down the person that's locked into them, slowly. Verdugo tries to ratchet up the tension on the hold, tightening his grip a little more, but this does not deter the Heavy Metal hero, he does however fall limp for a second, stirring a thought in the mind of the masked man.

Verdugo wonders to himself if he's possibly passed out the man by somehow letting himself twist into a choke hold. This is an inadvertent move on Graves' part though because just as he was about to start the writhing again, he feels the MAGGOT completely break the hold! Graves' is not the type to look a gift-horse in the mouth, and he quickly pushes back and slinks up to his feet. Aside from the fire red ears, he appears to be relatively unscathed. On the other side though, Verdugo cocks his head up, peering through his mask, eyes bulging. He can't believe he's made such a rookie mistake. Graves is sure to make him pay for it as well. As the MAGGOT gets to about his knee, Graves draws his leg back, and rifles it forward. The masked man is able to raise his arm in time to shield himself from SOME of the damage, but the toe of the boot of Graves comes around and nicks Verdugo square to the side of the mask, hitting just above where he would need to, to throw the equilibrium off with a stiff TOE KICK that sends the MAGGOT flopping to the mat, resting on his side.

On the outside of the ring, Bellatrix can hardly bring herself to watch that one, knowing that blows like that, would not take long to incapacitate a man and even worse, a well placed one would take only one shot. Mark Graves looks over at the vixen and waits until she raises her head back up to look in the ring, he points down at Verdugo and asks if this is "the best she's got?" to which she shrugs her shoulders, and looks the other way.

Brunswick - Not sure how well of an idea it is there for Graves to be jawing with Bellatrix on the outside of the ring. I'd say he caught a break there with that, he needs to capitalize on this. We saw the brutality of this masked monster at Desperate Measures when he was in the ring with Mr. Turner, a gentleman much larger than Mark Graves.

Verdugo leans his head up, and starts to shake it violently, as if to be working the cobwebs out. This is lost on Graves for a moment, that is until he returns his attention to his downed foe. In a desperation attempt, the MAGGOT has leaped right up off of the mat, and placed both hands behind the head of his opponent. Verdugo drops back to the canvas, and lets Graves' chin smash into the top of his mask covered head, surely slowing the Cyanide Champion down with a JAW BREAKER that completely blindsided Graves. Upon delivery of the move though, rather than keep the heat on Graves, the MAGGOT rolls to the outside of the ring, just out of the view of the camera. But it only lasts for a second, before he springs back up to his feet... seemingly completely refreshed. The monster slides back into the ring underneath the bottom ropes, and starts to march right up to the downed Graves.

Mark sees the impending doom approaching, and moves to take a defensive stance. It's too late though, the MAGGOT is already on top of him. He easily lifts the much smaller Graves to his feet, and in an impressive show of power, sends the smaller man sprinting across the ring with an effortless IRISH WHIP that of course, sends Mark springing off of the ropes, and right back into the crosshair's of the still relatively new guy.

Verdugo plants his combat boots firmly on the mat, and embraces for contact. And as soon as Graves gets near, he lowers his shoulders, and drives the forward, slamming the hulking mass into the stomach of the Cyanide Champion. The move does not stop there though, he leans up, lifting Graves up off of his feet, and follows through with a quick BACK BODY DROP that sends Graves crashing to the mat. In a odd turn of events though, the masked man appears to be indulging in some gloating of his own. Dropping to one knee, and extending both arms, posing for the "Crowd" - though really, he only poses for Bellatrix.

Smith - Impact move there from Verdugo! Mark Graves never saw it coming, but I wonder... Where did he get all of this energy all of a sudden, that toe-kick should have taken a lot more out of him than it did...

It's usually never a good thing to showboat in Professional Wrestling, and Verdugo be fooled to think otherwise, he was just on the good end of that very same thing, right? Well this time, he pays for it. While efficient, the Back Body Drop is hardly a match ender, and certainly not so early on. Graves gets to his feet, albeit a little slowly, with little more than a shooting stinger coursing up his backside. The masked monster gets to his as well, taking much more time, thinking that he's got everything under control But this is met with tragic results! As he gets to his feet, he sees the fear in the eyes of his associate on the outside of the ring, she even points behind him as if to warn him. This all translates very slowly to the man, but as he spins, it's too late. Graves leaps up into the air, and grabs Verdugo by the shoulders of his jacket, raising his legs he pulls back and falls to the canvas. The result is a vicious CODE BREAKER on the masked man, that at least temporarily, ceases all movement from the MAGGOT. Mark Graves rolls to the side, and gets to his feet. He's seen Verdugo recover rather quickly before, and while he's certain that no quick recovery will be had this time, he will not be fooled twice. He approaches with caution, watching, preparing for a springing to life from his victim. Once Graves is satisfied that will not be the case this time, he reaches down, grabbing for the back of the jacket of his opponent, this time he will be the aggressor!

TBC - Mark Graves, additionally OOC: I'm working an angle with the quick recovery here, Verdugo isn't a super-human guy who doesn't feel pain. I'll explain more to Graves via PM, hope that is okay!

Graves decides to start his newly claimed time on the attack right and after bringing Verdugo to his feet, Graves takes his nails, digs them right into the fabric of Verdugo’s jacket, and rakes across the back in one swift motion. Eric Steele is irate after this blatant disregard for the rules but The Cyanide Champion doesn’t care in the slightest and instead follows it up with a couple of forearms shots to the back of the neck. With Verdugo doubled over, Graves seeks to pick up the pace a little, bursting off of the ropes and messing Verdugo up with a running knee to the forehead. The stiff crack from the knee is enough to get the entire Garden to audibly cringe. Verdugo is reeling on wobbly legs as Graves gets an evil idea for what to do next. Brawling hadn’t done too much to take the big man down, and while Graves wasn’t content to abandon the strategy just yet, he knew he needed to shift gears to keep Verdugo on his toes. And what better way to shift gears than to sap the MAGGOT’s power and what better way to sap his power then by going after his arms.

As soon as the ringing in Verdugo’s head stopped, Graves ran to him and jumped up on his arm, bringing the bone across his knees with a vicious armbreaker. The Masked Man clutches his arm tightly as he rolls to a kneeling position. Graves is not going to give him a moment of respite and rushes right towards him. As he reaches the kneeling enigma, Graves rolls forward, grabbing Verdugo’s arm and twists around, hitting a sort of float over arm drag. Now on the ground, Graves seeks to sap some more energy out of the arm by cinching it up in fujiwara armbar. Graves keeps the hold locked in for a good 45 seconds, Bellatrix Carpathia looking more concerned for her associate with each passing second. Eventually, Verdugo reaches his feet and starts to use his free hand to punch Graves in the stomach a few times. But Graves is not willing to give up the offense that easily, and Graves stuns him again with a toe kick right to the heart.

With the wind almost assuredly knocked out of Verdugo, Graves then takes the locked up arm and transitions to a wrist lock. Graves then slowly and arrogantly swaggers over to the turnbuckles, confident that the momentum of the match is now on his side. The crowd is against him every step of the way, booing him as he leads the masked man by the wrist. Graves then hops up on the second turnbuckle and then the top one, again with arrogance oozing from every pore of his body. The Heavy Metal Snail then grabs the wrist and holds it high above Verdugo’s head while he deftly tightropes walks across the top rope, the crowd slowly oohing in anticipation for what will come next. Verdugo looks over to his manager, whose eyes are growing wide at the sight of her client getting tossed around by the upstart. With the intent of making the highlight reel, Graves vaults right off the ropes.

Smith: If Graves connects with this ropewalk arm drag, then the match will be his for the taking.

Brunswick: I’ll give credit where credit is due, he’ll definietley take the power from Verdugo and swing the match in his favor with this move.

And indeed the highlight reel move is made and the match momentum changes. It’s too bad that Graves was on the receiving end of the momentum shifter. For as he vaulted off the ropes, Verdugo used his free hand to hook Graves’ leg and broke the wrist lock as soon as Graves came off. In one fell swoop, Verdugo snatched Graves out of the air and brought him back first to the mat with a brutal spinebuster. The crowd goes wild at the spot, the commentators lose their shit, the broadcast booth plays it again and again, and above all else, Graves lies in the ring prone. Verdugo looks over to his manager, who’s applauding quite happily along with the crowd before nodding her head at the masked stranger. Instead of going for the cover like one would expect, Verdugo picks Graves up and hits him across the back of the next with a good old fashioned karate chop. The MAGGOT then put the boots to Graves with a pump kick right to the heart. Graves then reels back into the ropes, clutching his rapidly reddening chest as Verdugo runs off the ropes, Bellatrix Carpathia looking on menacingly.

Verdugo get his knee up and runs right into Graves’ stomach. The Heavy Metal Snail looks like he’s about to throw up as he stumbles off the ropes and onto the canvas. But Verdugo isn’t ready for a cover, not by a long shot. Instead of trying to get his second victory, Verdugo picks up Graves and wraps his arms around The Guardian of Metal’s abdomen and throws him over his head with a belly to belly suplex. Not content with just one, Verdugo rolls over and suplexes the Cyanide Champion again, this time with more force and with a heavier impact. The MAGGOT roles over and looks for one more belly to belly suplex, but as he goes to pick up his opponent, Graves is a sandbag in his hands, not budging an in. Verdugo tries to lift again but Graves still does not move. Instead, he moves his arms and hooks them over Verdugo’s, locking in an MMA style overhook lock. Graves furiously pushes the arms together as he brings his forehead across Verdugo’s chest repeatedly with several machine gun headbutts. Verdugo stumbles a bit in the holds, which Graves takes as his cue to send him to the canvas. With a surprising amount of power for a man his size, Graves lifts Verdugo up and barrels him into the mat with a trapping suplex.

Smith: Wow! What an impressive display of power from Graves! I guess all that training is starting to pay off for him.

Brunswick: I’m not sure if Verdugo accounted for Graves’ increased power. It’s definitely not going to be easy to dominate Graves like it was for Girotti.

As both men hit the mat, Graves arches his back up and makes a bridging pinfall attempt.

1…

2…

Kickout right after 2

Smith: Graves following a different strategy than Verdugo. Unlike his masked counterpart, Graves is out to win this one while it looks like Verdugo’s out to punish.

The close pin is enough to send a look of across Bellatrix Carpathia’s face. Graves continues to bully Verdugo on the mat by stomping on his knee a few times before picking him up and rocking him with a dropsault. Graves then runs off the ropes but ends up getting caught by an inverted atomic drop by Verdugo. Seeking to regain some of the lost momentum, Verdugo hits Graves with a series of knife edge chops before running off the ropes himself and hitting Graves with a running shoulder block. Graves gets back up, only to be hit with another shoulder block, and then another. The Heavy Metal Snail gets back to his feet but quickly gets flattened by a clothesline from Verdugo. Now on the ground, Verdugo shows some great athleticism by hitting a running splash on Graves. Verdugo then makes the cover.

1…

That’s all Verdugo gets as Graves grips the bottom rope. Deciding that now was the time to follow the rules, Verdugo gets off of Graves. The Cyanide Champion seizes to opportunity to create some distance between him and Verdugo by rolling under the ropes. The MAGGOT is not about to let Graves play the coward and goes after him as soon as he reaches his feet on the apron. However, Verdugo falls into a trap from Graves, who rockets over the ropes and rolls Verdugo up with a sunset flip.

1…

2…

Verdugo kicks out before the ref reaches three.

Smith: And that’s why I like Graves so much, he’s smart. He’s not above luring his opponents into traps and attempting to get the quick pinfall.

Brunswick: So you like him because he doesn’t play fair?

Smith: There’s nothing in the rules about using your brain Josh, though I wouldn’t be surprised if you thought there was considering your commentary.

Brunswick: Real mature Doug.

Graves’ sunset flip takes away some of Verdugo’s momentum but this proves to be a costly move as Verdugo roles to his feet and bashes Graves in the head with a basement dropkick. Verdugo makes the cover but only gets two as Graves gets the shoulder up. Verdugo pays no mind to his opponent’s resilience and instead looks to do more damage.

As the Masked man circles his opponent, who remains down after the quick pinfall attempt he watches closely, looking for the most opportune opening, and then it happens. Graves rolls right over onto his stomach and starts to push himself up off of the canvas. The enigma rushes in and delivers a swift SOCCER KICK square to the sternum. The force of the kick sends the smaller Graves completely off of the mat and into the air about half an inch, before he comes back down, first onto all fours, and then just falling flat. The kick was more than enough to completely disorient him for at least the time being. Verdugo keeps pressing his offensive position here, and walks over to the Heavy Metal Snail, grabbing a tight fistful of the ragged blonde mane that covers the head of the Cyanide Champion, and with little regard for the man's gangly hair, he commences to lift Mark to his feet using just that... After getting his opponent up, Verdugo cocks his head back, and steps forward, jerking his whole body into the direction of his foe, but more notably his head is also moving.

The MAGGOT's elementary style HEADBUTT cracks just off of the top of the bridge of Graves' nose, sending a burning sensation straight up the Champion's face that extends all the way to the back of his head. Instinctively Mark raises both hands to try and quell the pain as his eyes water up ever so slightly. The sight is enough to make the masked man chuckle a little bit. Unfortunate for him, Graves hears this and takes it as some sort of disrespect. The fiery rag-headed man raises one of his arms and easily swats the unsuspecting Verdugo's hand away from his hair, and returns the blow with a HEADBUTT of his own. Now Graves can't very well tell if Verdugo's eyes are watering or not, but he knows that the move did deliver some amount of damage, because the masked man stumbles back just about a half a step. The quick thinking Graves leaps up off of the canvas and kicks both legs out, landing a STANDING DROPKICK right into the left kneecap's of the Masked competitor, sending Verdugo crashing to the mat, much like a large tree would come down in the forest, violent, and quick.

Smith - Yes! You have to love the approach that Mark Graves has taken here. Ever since his loss to Horestes Girotti, he's been a much different man. I think he's probably on a mission to never lose another match here again. And whatever new training he might have underwent sure seems to be paying off for him tonight! He's bringing the fight right to the larger Verdugo.

Brunswick - True as that might be, I think that Verdugo showed us in his match with Turner that he can take quite a bit of pain, but even I have to admit here. Take out a giant's leg's and he's really left with not much else. Let's see what kind of strategy Graves employs here!

The Heavy Metal Snail quickly whips around to the rear of Verdugo after getting up from delivering the dropkick, and grabs the leather boot of his opponent, rolling the masked man over to his stomach, Graves takes the ankle of the left leg, and lifting it high into the air, he bites his bottom lip as people so often do when trying to find more strength, and pulls straight down, smashing the same knee that he just kicked out from underneath the MAGGOT with a bruising KNEE SPIKE right into the canvas of the ring. Though muffled by his mask, Verdugo's loud groans of pain are still very much audible. A disgusting grin makes it's way across the face of the Heavy Metal Snail, as he reaches down again, grabbing at the ankle of Verdugo, but instead of going for the predictable route here, and delivering another knee spike, he instead makes his way over to the ropes.

Many people guess that what's going to happen next, will be the equally predictable, ankle on the bottom rope, jump up and land on the knee move... Wrong again, Graves jumps right outside of the ring, and reaches in underneath the bottom rope, pulling Verdugo back even further until about half of his leg is outside of the ring, leaving his knee resting right on the edge of the canvas. Mark Graves lifts the leg as high into the air as he can, and then pulls down just as hard as he'd driven the leg down earlier. Some look away, thinking that this has to snap the knee in half, and you'd think it would! As the joint smacks the apron, the masked brawler lets out a loud ROAR of pain, and tries to scurry back into the center of the ring, or anywhere for that matter, just away from where he's at right now.

Bellatrix looks into the ring at her associate, and then glances quickly over at Graves. Adding to the unpredictability of the match, instead of running over to try to distract Graves, and buy Verdugo some precious time to recoup, she allows him to jump up on to the apron, and then she leaps up onto the opposing side, herself. Of course, the illegal body draws the ire of Mr. Steele, and he storms right over to her, warning her to remove herself from the ring.

Smith - Even the ferociousness of Graves has Carpathia not wanting to get in his way, instead she's going to distract the ref... But for what? Verdugo needs some time, not a distracted referee. Now Graves can do whatever he wants.

Brunswick - Yeah... So far I'd say that this match is anything but.... Oh now WAIT a minute! NOW I see what's going on here! That's why Verdugo seems to not get winded or take much damage LOOK!

Just to the side of the camera, it's like a doppleganger has appeared. One Verdugo laying in the ring, and another on the outside? Graves lifts his leg, and tries to climb into the ring, but he finds himself rooted in place. As he looks down to see what the problem is, his eyes bulge! How can Verdugo be on the outside of the ring AND be laying on the inside as well? Before Graves has time to ponder this, the "Verdugo" on the outside of the ring grabs the other foot, and pulls back viciously, yanking Graves right off of the apron.

Unprotected, the Cyanide Champion's face smashes right off of the canvas, and in turn he falls backwards to the mat's on the outside in a heap! The "Phantom Verdugo" leans into the ring, and pulls the down one out of the squared-circle, and rolls him underneath the apron of the ring, clean out of the sight of the official. Once the switch is complete, Carpathia jumps down off of the apron, leaving the official to spin around. Trying to sell the trickery, "Verdugo" has knelt down on the outside of the ring, appearing to still be reeling from the previous offensive attack.

Smith - Of all the low down, completely DIRTY things, this one is...

Brunswick - BRILLIANT! As long as they don't get caught that is! This has to not only play heavily on the psyche of Graves, but it also has to throw off his game plan. He said he'd figured out the Masked man, but this? There's no way!

"Verdugo" grabs Graves, and violently rolls him back into the ring underneath the bottom rope, and quickly follows him back in. As the Heavy Metal Snail comes to a stop, he leans over onto his elbow and starts to scoot back a little, trying to distance himself from his opponent. His mind racing, "who the hell is under THAT mask, is THAT the real Verdugo, if so who is the OTHER guy?" too many things to ponder, and before he even realizes it, the enigma is on top of him, stomping away at his chest, over, and over, and one more for good measure. Graves collapses onto the mat, struggling to breathe, but he'll find no reprieve here, the punishment has just begun. "Verdugo" grabs him by his neck, not in a manner to choke, but pulls him to his feet, and quickly has Mark draped over one shoulder, charging across the mat. The Masked Man throws his momentum forward, and jumps slightly, pulling Graves down. The result is a ring shaking RUNNING POWERSLAM that causes even the official to turn his head and wince for a second. Verdugo holds the position and goes for a quick pinfall, but this isn't the end. Graves kicks out at two. The man underneath the mask smiles to himself. After delivering a quick, yet brutal, elbow to the throat "Verdugo" gets to his feet, and leaps into the air, kicking his leg out, he drops it down across the spot he just landed the elbow shot with the HULK HOGAN LEG DROP OF DOOM!

He rolls over, clearing the choking, panting body of Graves, and drops to a football type stance. With a leather gloved hand extended, he waves at the Cyanide Champion, almost daring him to get back up.

I'm watching you sleep.
Graves starts to get up to his feet; “Verdugo” sizes him up as Graves reaches a vertical base. Once Graves has his footing back, the doppelganger takes his foot up and boots him square in the gut before dropping him to the mat with a DDT. The crowd, who started out supporting Verdugo more than Graves, was firmly against the masked man thanks to his deception tactics. This did not perturb “Verdugo” one bit as he stomped on Graves’ head before running off the ropes and planting him with a running knee drop. The second Verdugo stalks his helpless opponent as he soldiers back up to his feet once more. The false MAGGOT moves behind Graves menacingly, and as the Heavy Metal Snail reaches his feet, (not) Verdugo hooks Graves’ arms back in a bone crunching chickenwing lock.

Graves lets out a primal scream as the Masked Double wrenches back on his arms. Graves is caught in the center of the ring, thinking of something, anything that could get him out of the hold. First, Graves tries to twist out of it, use his superior technical wrestling to slither his way out of the hold. But all of the Guardian of Metal’s attempts to worm his way out were simply halted by his larger opponent wrenching back in the hold and stopping Graves right where he stood, his power advantage winning out. Graves then thought of simply brute forcing his way out using his feet, but that also didn’t work as The MAGGOT II simply moved his leg out of the way of whatever fancy footwork Graves threw at him. Eventually, Graves decides to get out the old fashioned way, getting to the ropes. This proves to be an ordeal in its own right, Verdugo is far bigger than him and is more than able to hold him back if he tries to move. And that’s just what Verdugo does. As soon as Graves breaks for it, Verdugo pulls back on the arms so tightly, it looks like he’s about to pull them off. The Heavy Metal Snail lets out a pained scream but he is nothing if not persistent. Despite the pain, Graves powers through it and step by small step, he eventually makes it close enough to the ropes to stretch out his leg and touch them, prompting Eric Steele to begin the count.

Smith: Graves stays alive here. You gotta love the determination and the fire of this kid, he just has no quit in him.

Brunswick: Well maybe quitting would’ve been in his best interest. Verdugo has just sapped a lot from Graves with that chickenwing hold and Graves is going to have to fight without as much in the tank.

Smith: I think you mean fake Verdugo took the energy out.

Brunswick: Tomato, tomahto.

Verdugo II doesn’t let go of Graves. Instead, he lifts him and drops the inside of knees across the top ropes, slinging him back with a hotshot tiger suplex. Verdugo lifts up on the bridge and the ref begins to count.

1…

2…

Graves kicks out halfway before the ref reaches 3. Graves takes the time to roll onto the apron, clutching his left shoulder and massaging it, trying to mitigate some of the damage done. “Verdugo” is right on Graves though. He reaches through the middle rope grabs The Heavy Metal Snail’s untamed mop, pulling him up to a vertical base on the apron. Verdugo then hooks an arm over his head and grabs Graves’ tights, looking to suplex him over the ropes. This plan is stopped dead in its tracks when Graves kneed him through the ropes before grabbing Verdugo’s colorful hair and slinging him face first across the top rope. Verdugo staggers back on the canvas and Graves senses that this is the prime opportunity to change the match momentum, and springs right off of the ropes, crashing into Verdugo with a springboard single leg dropkick. Both men are now down but not for long. Graves slowly works his way back to his feet with Verdugo coming up shortly after.

Graves’ arms might have been hurt, but in the words of Forrest Gump “his legs were fine and dandy.” The Heavy Metal hounded Verdugo with some stiff puro style kicks to the legs, alternating between the left and the right after each kick, until The MAGGOT had dropped to his knees. Graves put a fist in the air and ran towards the ropes, rebounding with authority and steamrolling Verdugo with a step up enziguri. Verdugo fell to the canvas with a thud. Graves makes his way over the corner and starts to tap on the top turnbuckle as Verdugo gets up to his feet. The Guardian of Metal then hops onto the first turnbuckle, then the second, and finally the third before leaping off and twisting around to take Verdugo off his feet with a crossbody. Graves hooks the leg as both men hit the ground.

1…

2...

Verdugo kicks out. Graves then stomps on Verdugo’s knee a few times before picking him up and whipping him towards the ropes. As Graves whips him, Verdugo twists around and reversed the whip. As Graves sails to the ropes, Verdugo runs to the opposite side of the ring and springs off, meeting Graves in the center with a spear. Graves flew back, landing right on his neck as Verdugo made the cover for the two count.

Brunswick: Graves can’t seem to put the second Verdugo down, whatever he throws at him, the MAGGOT takes and throws it back.

Smith: This is a farce! This match should be thrown out! Verdugo is a dirty cheater and he’s screwing Graves out of this victory!

Brunswick: Graves losing would be no one’s fault but his own. It’s not Verdugo’s fault that Graves can’t keep up.

As Graves rolled back up, The Masked Man kicks The Guardian of Metal firmly in the gut before grabbing him in a double underhook lock, lifting him up, and dropping him across his knee with a backbreaker. Verdugo then locks in a gutwrench hold before Graves could hit the ground. He slings Graves over his shoulder like a bag full of toys and looks over to his very happy manager before making a throat slit motion, signaling the end of the match. He has the full intent of hitting the Dominator, the same move he used to put away Mr. Turner last month at Desperate Measures. Everyone can see it coming, including Graves, who has the good sense to hop off of his shoulder and make a beeline to the ropes. Graves hops over the ropes and lands on the apron looking for a springboard maneuver. He has no time to get one off, as Verdugo is in hot pursuit, looking to knock his opponent off the apron. But Graves is able to think on the fly, and as Verdugo draws near, Graves jumps up and send him over te ropes and to the ringside area with a frankensteiner.

Verdugo gets to his feet on the ringside area and decides to create some distance between himself and Graves by walking over to his manager. Graves is having none of it though. He’s sick of the games. He’s sick of this second Verdugo. He wants the real Verdugo back in the match, and he’s going to draw him out the only way he knows how. Graves runs right across the apron and flattens Verdugo with a flying double knee strike. Graves doesn’t even bother to wait for his opponent to get up, instead wrenching him to his feet and whipping him right into the ring post. The Verdugo double connects with a vicious thud, and as he falls back, The Heavy Metal Snail grabs his head and twists around, hitting his Die For Metal Hangman’s Facebreaker. Graves rolls back into the ring in order to break Eric Steele’s count before picking Verdugo off the ground and whipping him into the barricade. Graves then goes under the ring and pulls out a chair.

Brunswick: Oh my god! What’s Graves going to do with that chair!?

Smith: If I were to make an educated guess, I’d wager he’s trying to put the second Verdugo away to get the first one back in the match

Graves takes the chair and raises it over his head. He brings it down hard across the head of Verdugo.

Graves: Come on out Verdugo!

He hits the double two more times, the second Verdugo now slumping down on the barricade.

Graves: This poor bastard’s not going to last forever!

He hits the clone again, this time thrice. The second Verdugo is now seated down. Graves rolls in to the ring and rolls back out, not wanting to win or lose this match by count out. As he gets back to ringside, he sees Bellatrix Carpathia standing in between his prey and him, hoping to get Graves to back off. He doesn’t. Not in the slightest. Instead, he simply throws Bellatrix out of the way, props Verdugo back up on the barricade and starts to go to town on him, hitting chair shot after chair shot.

Brunswick: Somebody stop him! This should not be allowed! He could give Verdugo a concussion! He could end his career! And look at the way he treated Bellatrix Carpathia! What’s wrong with this man!

Smith: He’s paying evil unto evil! Verdugo cheated and it’s only fair that he show him what happens when you try to cheat Mark Graves

Mark Graves: Come out and face me you little bitch!

There is no response from Verudgo. Graves then looks over the clone and back to the chair in his hands. “What more can I do to draw him out” he thought.

“Use the Wildcard?”

“No, not yet. I’m saving that one for the real Verdugo”

The Heavy Metal Snail instead takes the dead weight that is the Verdugo body double under his arm, drops the chair on the mat and lifts the doppelganger over his head, dropping him on the chair with a horrifying brainbuster.

Mark Graves: COME OUT MOTHERFUCKER! OR ELSE YOUR GIRLFRIEND WILL END UP LIKE YOUR CLONE!

Graves issues the bold challenge and watches the bottom of the ring, awaiting Verdugo’s response.

By this point, many in the crowd just want the brutality to stop. Sure you have those raucous sections of young men that would like to actually see someone beheaded here tonight but that does make up the small minority of the audience. Mark Graves is back in the ring now, storming around like an animal recently un-caged. Seething with anger, he walks over to the ropes, and kicks the bottom one violently, still staring down at the ramp. He knows that Verdugo is out there somewhere, and like anyone else in his shoes just assumes that he's traveled to the backstage area. Little does he know though, that the masked man has been laying underneath the ring all along, and is just waiting, biding his time. The official, Eric Steele though, can not. He is obligated to start a count of ten, because for all he knows, the man laying down on the outside of the ring IS the real Verdugo. Graves keeps interrupting this count, and Steele pushes Mark off of him, warning him that if he hinders the count once more, he will be disqualified himself. Not wanting to risk losing this match, this puts Graves in a conundrum. He throws his hands up in the air in frustration and looks back over at Bellatrix, starting to make his move.

The audience start to jeer loudly... Graves thinks it's in response to his current course. He couldn't be more wrong though. And then it hit's him! From behind Graves feels himself being yanked down to the canvas by his shoulders. The enigma has slithered out from underneath the ring like the snake that he is, and is on the attack! Graves falls unprotected against the move, the knees of the serpent driving deep into Mark's back somewhere up near the shoulders with a vile
BACK-CRACKER that sends the Cyanide Champion bouncing up off of the knees of his opponent, and flopping over onto his side, contorting himself in such a way, that just by looking at him, you know that pain is the most prevalent of his mind right now.

Brunswick - To be so large, Verdugo is surprisingly very nimble on his feet. He get's around almost undetected by Graves just like he did against Turner last month, and is able to strike from almost any direction, and make it effective!

Smith - The only thing that's being proven right now, is that he uses coward tactics, and those might be effective a time or two, but someone smarter, and better will figure them out. But could he really be one of the dirtiest in PRW? He's been saying all along, don't treat him like a rookie... Some validity to that claim perhaps?

Bellatrix looks into the ring, with a very different expression on her face now, one that has turned to relief. Whereas paramedics arrive on the ringside area to check on, and eventually wheel away the body double. She checks on him as well, but only for a second before turning her attention back into the ring where Verdugo has now jumped down onto the canvas next to Graves, and started to smack the man about the head, taunting him. Clearly Graves has done something that has really rubbed the enigma the wrong way.

After a couple of smacks, the masked man gets to his feet, and reaches down, lifting Graves to his as well. Holding onto Graves' wrist, the bruiser drives his shoulder into the chest of the smaller man and very simply just muscles him back into a corner. As his mat's hit the padded bolts, Graves takes a deep breath only to have Verdugo raise a leg and smash his knee into the abdomen of his opponent. Graves tries to double over, but can't due to the fact that Verdugo is standing right up on him, and to make matters worse for Mark, he delivers another
KNEE STRIKE this time, a little lower towards the groin, getting dangerously close to the midsection. One more knee strike, this one a bit better placed right up underneath the chest cavity, and Verdugo steps back allowing the slumping, and winded Graves to double over in pain. The Cyanide Champion staggers from the cornered prison, and drops to a knee.

Seeing another opportunity, the enigma Verdugo raises his leg and brings it around quickly, trying to take the head of his opponent off, but this is met with the result that was not intended to happen. Graves' quick thinking, even while slightly incapacitated; might have saved him in this match. Seeing the flying leg coming right at his head, Mark dropped his weight to the canvas forcing Verdugo's limb to soar just above. The only thing his shin met with, was the unforgiving steel of the turnbuckle. Still jarred from the sudden shooting pain in his leg, the masked man remains still for a second, and that is all it takes for Mark to capitalize on the mistake. He leans up, resting Verdugo's thigh on his shoulder, and closes any distance, raising Verdugo's leg high into the air. Graves then wraps his arms around the back of his opponent, and spins him around on the one leg that he can use, before leaning back and lifting up, sending Verdugo flying over head with a very impressive show of strength, carrying out the
BELLY-TO-BELLY SUPLEX masterfully.

The show of strength was truly impressive, as flashbulbs popped across the arena whilst fans captured the moment forever, Graves thought little of it and rolls over to his knees, pushing himself to a vertical base, knowing that he has to continue to press the attack or else he will find himself in a bad way. Meanwhile, the other contestant in this bout, finds himself bouncing off of the canvas, and rolls over onto his stomach, a sight that Graves catches. As he sees the man roll over, his heart jumps in his chest "you have got to be kidding me" he thought, but relief quickly came when that's where the movement stopped.

Smith - Graves, showing a bit of ferocity and poise that we haven't seen from him in quite a while. He's taking the fight right to Verdugo here, and does not appear to be letting up any time soon. And it's clearly evident that the time in the makeshift gym has paid off for the Cyanide Champion.

Brunswick - No kidding! Last month, I wonder if he pulls that move off. But tonight? Not a problem, even I have to admit that was quite an impressive feat there, can he keep the intensity going here?

Well if Graves will have his way, he intends to do just that. He takes a couple of steps back, and watches the masked man for about thirty seconds, and as Verdugo starts to crawl and position himself on the mat, Graves sees the perfect opening. He leans back against the ropes, using the coated nylon for leverage, and sprints off across the mat. Just before reaching the position of his downed opponent, he leaps down, and skids across the canvas - his boots on a direct collision course with the masked man's head! Verdugo looks over at the absolute worst time! He see's the bottom of a pair of boots right before getting a face full of them, via a BASEBALL SLIDE that quickly ceases all motion from the sprawling carcass of the enigma.

The Saviour of Metal figures that he needs to get in a couple more impact moves, before he can probably realistically put the newcomer away. So he looks to the corner, and smirks, an aerial attack would do just that. As he makes his way over to the turnbuckles, Bellatrix circles the ring, and comes to rest in sight of the masked man. She starts to smack at the canvas vigorously, trying to get his attention, which appears to be a futile attempt, at least for now. Back to Graves, who has started to scale the turnbuckles, while doing so, flashing back to various moments in the match, feeling the aches and pains that goes along with such a physical contest with each advancement on the turnbuckle. As he nears the top, a desperate Bellatrix looks over at him, biting her lip she decides to change the course of action. Instead of trying to revive her associate, she's going to focus on Graves. She charges around to the turnbuckle that he's poised on, as he steadies himself atop the top pad, Bellatrix quickly makes her way onto the apron, and reaches in, wrapping her arms around his ankle in an attempt to anchor him to the post.

The sudden motion forces Graves to lose his balance only slightly, but not nearly enough to throw him completely off balance. As he steadies himself again, he looks down to find the Woman clinging to his ankle. Cursing himself, he looks over at the official and starts to motion, he need not do that though, as Eric Steele is already on his way to the corner to make the young Woman get off of the turnbuckle.

Graves knows that precious time is being wasted here, and he starts to get a little nervous. Looking up just out of curiosity, he's almost turned pale by what he sees. Not only is Verdugo up and moving he's about two steps away from the turnbuckle! Bellatrix waits until just the right moment and releases the ankle. At about the same time, the bruiser pushes his way past the official and reaches up to grab Graves by the groin! As Mark tries to lower his center of balance, he drops down a little bit, just enough to let Verdugo grab him by the throat. The masked man lifts Graves up slightly, and tosses him straight overhead! The smaller competitor goes soaring through the air on an unguided, and unplanned trip. He can do little more than brace for impact, as he comes SLAMMING to the canvas, with a loud, and thunderous CLAP of flesh on covered metal thanks to the super
POWER SLAM OFF THE TOP ROPE!

Brunswick - HE'S DEAD! MARK GRAVES IS DEAD! How can any one walk away after a move like that. IMPACT shot there by Verdugo. He knew what he had to do to put this match away, and HE DID IT! It has to be over here! There's no way that Graves has anything left.

Compassion is a trait that was long lost on the Death from the South. Keeping the course, he treads slowly over to the writhing Graves, taking on the demeanor that so often follows in his promo pieces, he extends his covered arm, and waves his leather covered hand at Graves as if to say "Bye-Bye"! Stopping above the down man, Verdugo reaches down and lifts him to his feet, hooking both arms the masked man flops backwards, taking Graves to the canvas again, this time with the SIGNATURE DOUBLE ARM DDT that is very efficient at what it does! Though after delivering the move, he does something that even Bellatrix appears to be uncomfortable with. In his motions, it's clear that he has no intention of going for one of his finishers here, nope. Instead he lifts Graves off of the canvas, and positions him again... for another... DOUBLE ARM DDT!!!

After delivering the second one, the masked man rolls out to his side, and leans down on a knee, "waving" Graves to get back up, daring the Cyanide Champion to make a move, it's clear now that the only thing on Verdugo's mind is just the complete destruction of the smaller man... Something that could spell trouble for Mark Graves.

Graves’ head is ringing, his body is aching, and his will to fight is slowly crumbling away. Graves has been giving 110% to this match and yet, Verdugo has been shutting him down. It’s gut check time for the Heavy Metal Snail, the next few moments are going to be the most critical of the match. Graves gets back to his feet, much to the delight of both Verdugo and Bellatrix Carpathia. As soon as he’s on his feet, Graves makes his way over the ropes, desperately trying to escape the ring and buy himself some breathing room. His escape if forcefully denied by Verdugo, who simply scoops him up and puts The Guardian of Metal on his shoulder. He then walks to the center of the ring, Graves resting on his shoulder. Verdugo then makes another throat slash motion, signaling another attempt at the Dominator. This time, Graves does not hop off the shoulder, and Verdugo is free to flip Graves over fall towards the ground. The crowd boos, not wanting this to be the end.

It isn’t, for as Verdugo falls to the ground, Graves simply puts his feet out. Verdugo’s slam is stopped dead in its tracks as Graves lands on his feet instead of his stomach and quickly seeks to change the state of play by hooking Verdugo’s arms around his throat and lifting him up, before crashing to the floor with the Mosh Pit. The counter earns a large pop from the crowd, mainly due to the fluidity of it and less because they actually liked Graves. With his signature, Graves is back on the attack, running off the ropes and punting Verdugo in the gut. It’s not pretty or complex, but it’s damn effective and the Masked Man rolls over to his back. This gives Graves the cue to run towards the ropes and backflip off, hitting a springboard Heavy Metal Doomsday on his way down. Verdugo clutches his gut hard as Graves rolled up and motions for Verdugo to do the same. Verdugo slowly reaches a vertical base and Graves is all over him, running right up to the Enigma and scooping him upside down. Graves then immediately hooks the arms in a double underhook lock before letting out a loud yell.

Smith: Inverted Cross time! Graves is going to take this one!

Brunswick: No Verdugo! Counter! Counter! COUNTER! It can’t be over yet.

Despite Brunswick’s enthusiastic support of Verdugo, he couldn’t counter in time for Graves to sit out and plant the MAGGOT’s neck on the mat with a gruesome thud. The Inverted Cross was hit and the crowd cheered, having finally decided that Graves was the lesser of two evils. Graves then rolls Verdugo over and brings his legs across Verdugo’s shoulders, covering him for a pin. With a smile on his face, he watches as Eric Steele makes the count to his victory

NO!

Instead of the sound of the bell ringing and Bob Saget announcing him as the winner, Graves’ ears are instead filled with the sound of the crowd’s “WOAH!” Against all odds, Verdugo kicks out of the Inverted Cross with authority and the match isn’t over.

Smith: I thought for sure that would be it right there! How on God’s green earth did Verdugo manage to get out of that one!?

Brunswick: Willpower. Verdugo doesn’t want to lose this match and even if his body doesn’t want to win, his will wins out against it and keeps him fighting.

Smith: It’s still unbelievable! Graves almost had this one!

Graves’ face bears a mixture of shock, sadness, and disappointment, how could he kick out? That’s the finisher. It’s supposed to finish matches. Graves gets desperate and tries to finish the match again, this time grabbing the prone Verdugo’s legs and crossing them, looking for the Technical Difficulties. While Verdugo isn’t at 100%, he’s lucid enough to realize what Graves crossing his legs meant. The MAGGOT then put his hands the ground and wastes no time somersaulting forward. The force from the roll is enough for Graves to let go of the legs and send him right into the middle rope. As he hits the ropes, Bellatrix Carpathia runs over and pulls the rope down, sending the Heavy Metal Snail tumbling to the ringside area. This buys Verdugo enough time to get back to his feet.

Despite being back to a vertical base, Verdugo still had a lot of cobwebs to shake out. He rubbed his neck in an attempt to mitigate some of the damage done by the Inverted Cross. Fortunately for him, Graves was still on the mat, giving him more than enough time to massage at least some of the damage out. However, he was still a bit dazed and definitely needed more time to recover. This was time Graves was not prepared to give him and as he got to his feet, he made his way towards the apron as Eric Steele reached 5 in his count. However, the lovely but deadly Bellatrix Carpathia was not about to let The Guardian of Metal back into the ring while her associate is not at anything other than 100%, and quickly dives to grab Graves’ leg before he gets to the ring. Staying out of the ref’s sight, she is able to hold back Graves while Steele continues the count.

Brunswick: Bellatrix Carpathia is doing a good job keeping out of sight. She does not want to risk getting thrown out from this contest.

Smith: What are you doing Eric! She’s right there! Eject her! She’s interfered in this match twice now!

Graves starts thrashing around, trying to get Carpathia off of him. Once Eric Steele reaches 9 in his count, Bellatrix lets go and Graves fervently rolls his way into the ring. Once he’s in there though, he’s met with trouble from Verdugo in the form of a jaw jacking lariat. The power of lariat sends the Snail rotating a full 270 degrees before he lands on his chest. Verdugo then stomps on Graves’ back a few times before rolling him over and dropping the fist right on Graves’ face. The Mysterious Masked Man then picked Graves up, only to send him reeling back with a huge knife edge chop. The chop rings across the whole arena, causing the crowd to squeak out a loud “WOO!” Even Eric Steele feels it and reels back as the hand makes contact with flesh. Graves backs away into the ropes but Verdugo is still on him and whips him right into the opposite ropes. As The Heavy Metal Snail comes back, Verdugo plants him on the mat with a spinning side slam. Graves arches his back up as Verdugo jumps in the air and plants both knees on Graves’ chest, covering him for the two count.

When Graves kicks out, Verdugo simply gets back to his feet and rubs is neck some more, after all, it’s always good to be at 110% in a match like this. Verdugo waits for Graves to get to his feet. When he does, The MAGGOT kicks him in the chest and locks in a front facelock. He then hooks the leg and lifts him over his head, slamming him down to the canvas with a stellar Perfectplex. Now in complete control, Verdugo seeks to finish this match once and for all. The Dominator did not work the last two times. Now, it was time for something new. Verdugo wrenches Graves up by the arm and whips him to the ropes again. As he came back, Verdugo throws Graves up in the air looking for his rarely used ultra finisher, the Flapjack. Luckily for Graves, he still has enough left in the tank to do a front flip off of Verdugo’s shoulder, ending up landing on his feet. The Heavy Metal Snail then quickly rolls forward and got his legs off, handspringing off the ropes. Verdugo turns around, hoping to catch the slippery Snail, but he ends up on the receiving end of a handspring headscissors takedown.

Smith: Both men can’t seem to put an end to this one. Verdugo keeps trying for finishers and Graves keeps countering them.

Brunswick: And Verdugo just powers out of what Graves throws at him. It’s truly been a tug of war here in Madison Square Garden.

Verdugo was dazed by the headscissors takedown but he still got up right after. It would be dangerous for him to get on the ground with Graves, lest he get caught in the Technical Difficulties. The MAGGOT tries to use his power and speed on Graves by charging at him head on. The Heavy Metal Snail se the charge coming from a mile away though, and as Verdugo gets within striking distance, Snail jumps up, twists around, and drops Verdugo head first on the mat with a float over DDT. Graves then motions for Verdugo to get up and he does, albeit on his knees. This is the cue for Graves to stun him with a shining wizard before picking him up and leveling him with the Headbanger. Now with Verdugo halfway to dream street on the mat, the Guardian of Metal climbs the turnbuckles and points to the air, signaling the Stage Dive.

Smith: Graves is gonna do it! He’s worn down Verdugo enough! This is the end!

Brunswick: It’s not the end! Someone needs to stop this madman from winning!

Sure enough, Brunswick’s prayers are answered. Just as he’s about to jump off the ropes, Bellatrix Carpathia grabs his leg and pulls it out from under him, unbeknownst to referee Eric Steele. Graves falls crotch first onto the turnbuckle as Verdugo gets back to his feet and puts his head between Graves’ leg, pulling him off the ropes and rocketing him to the ground with an Alabama Slam. Now back in control of the match, Verdugo mounts Graves and begins ramming his fists into Graves’ face. The brutality of the fists is too much for Steele, who demands that Verdugo get off. The masked man complies but he quickly picks up the Guardian of Metal and whips him into the corner. He then runs toward him and hits a yakuza kick to the face before hanging Graves upside down in the dreaded Tree of Woe. Verdugo then moves over to the opposite turnbuckles before springing off of them and dropkicking Graves right in the face. The Heavy Metal Snail falls out of the corner and rolls over from the impact prompting Verdugo to climb the turnbuckles himself. Verdugo doesn’t pose or gather hype or anything of that nature but the crowd cheers anyway, expecting something big from him. Indeed, Verdugo shows some impressive agility for a guy his size and jumps off the ropes, hitting Graves with an elbow drop. The crowd pops as Verdugo covers Graves.

Kickout at 2

Brunswick: How impressive is Verdugo right now! It’s rare we see a guy his size pull out an elbow drop that picture perfect!

Smith: I don’t care! He’s a coward and a cheater! C’mon Graves!

Verdugo then starts to get frustrated, though he doesn’t show it. But it’s clear that the match has been wearing on his psyche as he picks up Graves and begins to furiously pound him with closed handed fists. Verdugo backs Graves up into the corner, still beating on him with the fists. Despite the power of the punches, The Heavy Metal Snail still has some life left in him and kicks Verdugo in the leg. He then begins to soldier his way out of the corner with a series of sharp, stiff kicks to the legs and side. Graves then pushes Verdugo to the center of the ring with a boot to the gut before running forward and blasting Verdugo with a huge enziguri. Verdugo flops around for a bit and Graves waits for him to recover. When he does, Graves grabs his wrist and whips him, only to pull him back and hit the Double Bass Pedal Spinbuster into the corner. Verdugo sits down and Graves gets an evil look on his face. Wasting no time at all, Graves makes his way to the seated Verdugo, props him up, and turns him around. He then grabs him in an Argentine Backbreaker Rack before going to the top rope. As he perches on the ropes, Bellatrix Carpathia tries to throw him off, but Graves is ready this time, and simply kicks her off the apron and onto the floor.

Brunswick: Oh god! I don’t know what Graves is doing but I don’t like it one bit!

Smith: Verdugo’s in a dangerous position here.

Mark Graves: WILDCARD!

Smith: Oh my god! Are we finally going to see the alleged “wild card” right now?

After screaming out the name of the aforementioned name, Graves squats on the ropes before jumping off. What happens next is pure horror. Graves throws Verdugo off his shoulder and drops his neck right on the canvas with an utterly sickening Super Burning Hammer. The crowd, who were beginning to cheer for Graves goes silent. The commentary team, who’d just been engaged in back and forth banters about the merits or both competitors, goes silent. The entire view audience is utterly shocked as Graves’ use of such a finisher. For all they knew, Verdugo could be horrifically injured, or worse. Bellatrix is squirming on the ringside floor while Verdugo lies in the ring, out like a light. Graves turns Verdugo over, not noticing the deathly silence that has fallen over Madison Square Garden. Instead, Graves covers Verdugo, hoping to get the win.
