PRW Announces Return to iPPV
The Grand Inquisitor announced to the wrestling world in his weekly Friday address that PRW will be retuning to internet-pay-per-view after four long months, taking place in two weeks time just outside of Philadelphia at Villanova University. Villanova’s uniquely shaped basketball Pavilion will play host to “The New Fall Classic,” PRW’s ambitious, latest tournament for its female grapplers.
“Well the last two things we did with the girls worked out pretty well, so I feel like it’s the time to give them a spotlight once again.” The Commissioner said in his YouTube address that PRW’s experiment with smaller, more targeted wrestling shows throughout 2011 and 2012 has been successful, and that in order for the company to grow it has to “corner every inch and fill every niche of the market.” At the center of “The New Fall Classic” will be an eight woman, single elimination style tournament in the fashion of the old King of the Ring event.
“This will be the most grueling, the most taxing both physically and mentally of the women’s tournaments we’ve run this year,” said the Inquisitor, “this’ll be a battle of wills and a true test of guts.” Like the Lioness Cup and the Summer Carnival the grand prize to the victor will include a trophy, and a cash prize collected from $1 of every ticket sold. PRW’s top female stars Sylvia Wrath, Emily Hart, Sherri Taylor, and Ata Tatupu were confirmed to compete by the Inquisitor himself, and Bella Quinn, Jenna Jett, Gemma Traumaward, and WRATH were later announced via the website.
The New Fall Classic will kick off with a drawing to fill out the tournament bracket, which will take place on a live preshow available free on YouTube, hosted by Philadelphia’s own Sean Aries. The preshow will include predictions for the event, live interviews with PRW stars, and a special preshow match. The iPPV itself will also feature “big time” matches in between the tournament rounds, with new X-Division champion Horestes Girotti confirmed to compete, as well as a mysterious “public address” by Undisputed champion Ninja MAGIC.
Match and participation announcements will be made soon, so check back here for all the latest!
