Minoru Suzuki laughs at Onslaught's floundering...
New Japan Pro Wrestling star Minoru Suzuki has sent his congratulations across the Pacific to the duo of Adam Xclusiv & Canary Kid, praising the new PRW Tag Team Champions on their clean sweep of Onslaught in the Best of Five series. “I want to congratulate Canary Xclusiv on their domination of ‘Otakuslaught,’ and wish them luck in reviving the manliness of the PRW Tag Team titles that was sorely missing in their predecessors’ reign.”
Suzuki and Team Onslaught have recently been trading harsh words and challenges back and forth, with the PRW team scoring a convincing win over Suzukigun members Taichi & Lance Archer earlier this month at the Summer Carnival (available now on DVD). The new Tag Team Champions thanked Minoru Suzuki for his well wishes, and wished that his group has the same amount of luck in conquering the Onslaught that Xclusiv Canary had.
Patrick Slaughter and Takato Kazama needless to say were not amused by the international show of support, letting Suzuki know exactly where he can stick his congratulations. Kazama told PRWwrestling.com today that when Suzuki issued the initial challenge Onslaught accepted it in a heartbeat, but their challenge to the Gundam Boss has gone unanswered since the post-Summer Carnival presser on the 2’nd. Slaughter theorized that the well wishing was just a publicity stunt between one team “that needs a third person to beat us,” and another team that’s “looking more and more like ‘keyboard warriors’ every day,”
“These guys rely on tricks and numbers because they lack that true fire in the ring,” Pat Slaughter said of his many rivals, explaining that Suzuki has been trying to throw Onslaught off of their mental game because “he knows straight-up, man-to-man he can’t quite match up to Takato or me.” Kazama, who has been getting pushed to his limits by the many rivals of Onslaught, simply said that this is “just a bunch of assholes high-fiving each other.” When asked by a fan at a recent house show if Takato wants to ‘put Suzuki’s name in the Death Note,’ Kazama reportedly chuckled it off and said that he ‘wants to break his stupid face.’
The PRW front office however has been loving the back and forth, which has been helping the company gain attention in the Japanese wrestling press. The Inquisitor himself has said that the Suzuki Army has ‘an open door’ to come to PRW, although Minoru Suzuki himself has still not committed to appearing inside a PRW ring. We will keep you informed as this and many other stories develop, only on PRWwrestling.com
