Long of the short of it, HMH becomes number one contendor, HMH requests promo slot on Livewire, HMH vaishes from the face of the Internet, deadline for entry to match passes, HMH forfeits, Lion wins.
Story of my title reign it seems.

Lion, there was a staffing error:
http://z10.invisionfree.com/PRW/index.php?showtopic=6483
Therefore, he will not lose his contendership because we booked him knowing he had an LOA.

Actually Burkie, he does lose his contendership. His LOA announcement was posted on Feb 10, and he said it was only to run until Monday. Feb 10 was a Sunday, and even running it to the week afters Monday, it's still only set to end on Feb 18. Which was the Monday of last week, he didn't post his promo, hasn't said anything else since then. His LOA only covered him to last Monday man, it's Thursday of the FOLLOWING week today.

Did he say he came back? No. Shit comes up man, you know that. For all we know something really important came up and he wasn't able to get online to tell us about it. Now if he had known that he would have had to have LOA'd longer than Monday, then prior arrangements could have been made. But unfortunately, that does not prove to be the case.

No he didn't say he was coming back because he hasn't been back. That's the point. I am aware shit in life happens, trust me, I know it well...

True, however short of him still being in high school and living at home with douche bag parents who ban you off computers for not doing well at school/around the house, there is no reason you can't hop on for five minutes and treat us to a sentence or two advising us of your situation and asking to be taken out of your matches, put on hiatus etc. He had a FULL WEEK to do this following his projected time of return. To boot, he didn't even get on to post his promo. I know all about those types situations happening but in todays world if you can't get online, you're technologically inept and are only excused if you are 40 and above. A library, schools have computers, there is no way you cannot reach a computer. If you say you can't, you're lying.

Exactly my point. If he had known, or when he had known, he coulda found a machine, hopped on the internet, and did the following...
"Hey guys, something came up I'm not gonna be back online for an indeterminate amount of time. I'm gonna need to ask all my chars be removed from matches and not booked. Sorry about it, but it's life."
See that? It took me all of ten seconds to write. But because he just posted a short LOA with a projecting return date, didn't even bother to post his promo which he said he would do as it was "important", and then just vanished entirely without so much as a line being dropped. Yes, he does lose his contendership and yes his characters should be placed on hiatus until we hear from him. It's not a difficult decision to make, the guy isn't here, the guy isn't eligable for contenderships, end of story.
