I was approached by Spardis, from AWR, on AIM late tonight with news of a new thing in preparation.
Spardis proposed that PRW, once again, attempt a "merger" with AWR. This would be set up as the WWE is set up, so both places have one show all to themselves and I would act as GM to PRW and Hans/Advocate would act as GM to his show.
This is for the most part EXACTLY what I proposed the last time and it got shot down because Hans denied any of the conversation between me and him to ever even happening.
I've told Spardis I will think about it. He's reminded me that he would act as a mediator between me and Hans so no power struggles would take place. Whether this will work or not, I don't know. He's willing to do this and take a chance.
I however, am not. I tried the idea once, and you all saw what happened. I was basically called a liar on my own board, which I still am not happy about.
PRW is self-sufficient, and doesn't need and help. We've grown and are still growing. I mean, in 1 month we got around 20+ members? That's crazy compared to when me, Matt, and NM started this way back in July.
So I'm leaving this up to you, as I want your opinions on it since you all make or break this fed.
So please, discuss.

I just like to add a few things if I may. This was all my idea to begin with, Advocate had nothing to do with this. As Russ said, this will be similar to a "merger" but with different circumstances. Yes, we'll all be under one banner, but the division will still be there. You guys here on PRW will compete on Russ' show, and the AWR guys will compete on Hans' show. Or, if you wish, you can create two characters and have one on each show, which was another idea of mine.
Basically, I'll be the overseer and the deciding vote in URW (Universal RPG Wrestling, that's what I'm calling it for now), that way there will be no more power struggles. Russ and Hans/Advocate will have complete control over their own "shows" with very little interfearence on my part. The only time I would probably stick my nose into it, is if my character was involved in a storyline somehow.
Everything will transfer over to URW... championships, current champions, etc. There will probably be some minor changes, but overall, everything will pretty much remain the same. Both shows will have their own championships and PPVs. And every once in awhile, both shows will have "co-production PPVs" where stars from both shows can face off if they wish. Basically, it'll be like how RAW and Smackdown are today.
I've already taken care of the important details. For example, let's say stars from another show decide to run interfearance on the opposite show, just to be pests. Well trust me, that won't happen because everyone will be completely seperated into groups, in which they'll only be able to post on the boards that include them. That's an example of the format I've laid down.
Moving on, as Russ mentioned above, he's worried this could potentially destroy PRW with no hope of revival. And in all honesty, yes, that could happen. I'm not going to lie about it. However, I believe the end would justify the means. If we all can put our personal shit aside and really work together like mature adults should, I feel we could really make something out of URW. We could double activity, and give people a reason to stay active in URW because of the competition b/w shows. That way people aren't just participating just because they're bored, ya know? We could very well become bigger, badder, better, and more successful than PRW and AWR ever was alone.
As far as attitudes go, I've personally talked with Advocate, and believe me he's sorry about what happened before and definletly is willing to put everything aside if you guys are. He's all for URW, therefore you guys can take some comfort in knowning that AWR willing to make this happen.
At the very least, we could give URW a "test drive", in which I'll ask some of you here in PRW and some guys from AWR to volunteer their time and we'll just play it all out for a little while in URW just to see how things work out. Then, if everything seems acceptable and such, we can make it official later on.
If you want to see the current layout of URW, go here: http://www.s14.invisionfree.com/URW/
Please note this is only a example, or a rough draft if you will. Therefore, PLEASE DON'T REGEISTER on these boards yet, since it is not finished. The final product, if we all decide to make this official, will look much better.
So, if you guys have any questions, concerns, etc. Please feel free to post them on here and/or ask me. I'll be more than happy to explain things. Like I said, I really feel we can make this work guys, all I need is your help. Anyway, I'll leave it at that for now. Thanks for your time everyone B)

I think the idea is good on paper. However;
-Having PRW and AWR seperate would essentially just be PRW and AWR, making a merger of any sort completely useless other than for storyline purposes or a new distribution of power, also pointless seeing as how the current situations are working fine. Why make two rosters register to a completely new board for the same thing?
-PRW would make up about 70% of the total roster. A lot of the guys that used to be the next generation of AWR are in PRW now, most of the veterans of AWR are also in PRW. The ratio just wouldn't work out unless Advo was to get PRW talent, and I'm not so sure that that would go over well with some of our roster.
-The majority of the AWR roster wasn't up for it last time, just because another person is in power probably won't change a whole lot. As Russ said, we've already been down this road, not a whole lot of people on that side were really into doing it.
I think that it would be great to do it as an occasional thing, like the brand war PPV's that were in action before, but to merge two companies into the same situation they're in now on a different board is pointless.
I'm not so sure Russ is afraid of losing PRW as much as he is of this idea flopping. Like I said, in the production phase, it is a good idea. I just don't think it would work out in the long run. I'm more for Hans and Russ making a board for occasional interpromotional supercards and just letting PRW and AWR be two seperate entities, the way they are now.

Good points, but I think we should look at it this way:
1.) There's no real point in having a seperate board for ONLY interpromotional events b/w AWR and PRW. Simply because if no one really likes this idea, then they most likely wouldn't care for that one either.
2.) Yeah, people will have to re-regeister on a new forum, but so what? How long does it take to regeister? Two minutes at the most. It's not that big of a deal.
3.) True, people weren't up for it last time, but that's because it was just Russ and Hans involved. Therefore, people probably assumed because of their past, instablity and power struggles would occur and the new, unified fed would just simply fall apart down the road. However, now that I've decided to get involved, things could be different. A new distribution of power could be a great thing, but of course, it will need time to grow. It won't fail in the long run if people actually put some effort into this. Like Russ said, it's you guys that can make or break role-playing federations such as these.
4.) I think it's silly how we have the same guys with the same characters on both AWR and PRW. If you want to give the whole RPG thing a realistic-type feel to it, then URW would be a good solution.
5.) Yes, PRW has the larger roster. However, that's why I made the Two Character Rule. Each person can have two characters, one for each show, that way you can participate on both shows if you want. Plus, that should help even out the rosters on both sides, not to mention double their chances in winning championships and such.

1.) Just about everyone was pro-brand wars, and the way that they were planned to be set up. A lot of naysaying for the merger itself though. Brand war has pretty much been scratched out too though.
2.) When I was talking about registry, I meant that essentially it would be the same thing, only on a new board. Why bother really?
3.) I'm not so sure I buy the explination on why they didn't accept it. I think it was more of personal grudge against Russ or myself before hand, and things people were saying. Besides, things between Hans and Russ were well past taken care of when they together started talking about brand war and merger. I don't think that more people in power is something that something like this would need, and if it were the case, I think both rosters would be more trusting of someone who has been on and been successful on both boards, such as No Fear or Nightmare. Honestly, I think anyone outside of Hans with maybe two people from AWR and Russ with the same number of people from PRW would just cause confusion, and a higher margin for disagreement.
4.) I like to think of PRW and AWR as indy feds. Nightmare and No Fear were bitter enemies in AWR, but tag partners in PRW. It adds flexibility to be in both, because things that may be happening in one between two people could never happen in the other. As for realism, are quite a few members of the TNA roster not the same character there as they are in ROH? How would it be decided which brand people who are on both would go to anyway?
5.) Almost everyone in PRW already has multiple characters, and quite a few on AWR as well. How would they have a character on each when most of them already have two to one brand?

Well, What if we did what spardis wants to do... but then we have a draft lottery. Not like the Current ones, like the orignal where Vince and Flair Pick Ten each, and then the rest are drafted.

That isn't the matter at hand though, Jason.
I'm not willing to risk PRW's livelyhood to do this when we don't even need to. We are completely alright by ourselves, so I and Matt both see no point in even considering this, and since the last time we tried this it was thrown back in my face, I don't see why I should have the courtesy to try this again.
That's my statement, and I'm not willing to negotiate unless the PRW roster tells me otherwise that they really want to try this out. I personally see no point.

No way in hell man! I personally, at least, would not want to be partaking in any draft lotery. I joined PRW, I knew that AWR was out there, but I joined one and not the other, then I could just be uprooted against my will and sent to the one I didn't join?
As for a brand wars pay-per-view, that would be cool. It would allow for a few "invasion" angles at specific times, but not have to make the players flip between boards all the time.

I agree with Wraith... Merging is a horrible idea, but interpromotional pay-per-views are an awesome idea that WORKS.
