Do Your Worst,I've Heard All The Brokeback Cracks
The camera pans in on a large figure leaning on an old wooden fence surrounding a vast ponderosa filled with cattle. The image focuses and the figure is shown to be Alexander Owens He is dressed in jeans, boots and black and tan rolled checkered shirt. He is wearing work gloves and looks a little dirty, like he has been hard at work. He takes a deep breath and begins to speak.

You know my family has lived on and worked this land for over 200 years; pouring blood, sweat and tears into it, forming the soil into something that has provided for our family for generations. A trade was built into this land and into each son the desire and need to carry on that heritage was breed. We are East Coast cattlemen, a rare but stubborn group of people that never listened to conventional knowledge, never jump on the bandwagon. We planted roots early and deep. We have a strong foundation. I have a strong foundation. Can you say the same Mercer?

Owens turns and looks sternly at the camera, his dirted stained face in a scowl of deep intent and his brow furrowed with purpose.

And what about you Pecker? Can either of claim to have strong roots? A history to your name and purpose? If what you have present to me and world is anything to show you do not. Mercer is a capable, dangerous and bright young competitor that somehow let a greedy, grifty, two faced, no neck slime like Pecker slink and be a guide for his career. He was a bull in a china shop, a man that could not decide if he wants to be a menace or a martyr. He had a new mindset every couple weeks. He had not internal focus. But lucky, or not so, Pecker saw promise in Manik and latched onto him. And gave him some focus, of a nature.

Looking with a mixture of disgust and grated anger, Owens is looks with fierce focus at the camera, wanting to make sure that his next topic gets the message.

As for Don Pecker? I have known men like Pecker my whole life. He is a swindler, a wheeler & dealer, a spook in suit; telling you what he can give you, what it is all worth, how with his influence and push the world turns into an oyster. He is a greased haired, straight tied, shifty eyed broker but he is not interested in produce, capital or livestock, well not the traditional type of livestock. He is a human broker. And he is very good at it. He hooked his plow to a lot of mules and worked them to death or exhaustion. And on top of that he always seems to think he is the smartest man in the room and is the holder of some kind of damm profound secret. I saw it when he spoke me, in the past and recently. He believes he knows me, that he has an inkling of what my life is, what my background is like, that I am just another cased but overlooked prospect. And he is dead wrong. Do not mistake me for some brainless hick Don. I was at top of my class in high school and college. I have an work ethic that muck suckers like you will never understand. And as for your slur about me only wrestling to collect a paycheck because farming is a dying profession? You are just as brainless as your protegge is for listen to slug like you. I would ask where do you think the leather comes for your shoes but as we both know your cheap imitation leather shoes have about as much in common with a cow as you do with a honestly earned wage.

Beginning to look flustered, Alex takes a deep breath to compose himself and looks backs towards the now rustling cattle then turns his gaze forward again.

So if you want to have war of words with me Pecker, be my guest. I can be your huckleberry. But as for you Mercer, words are going to do you no good. You and me are going to war at Bloodletting. I am going show you the error of your ways. I am going show you just how driven I am, especially after I drive you into and through the mat. So drink some tea, eat your Wheaties, sling some iron and prepare yourself Mercer. I going to take you on the ride of your life, free of charge. I am going to make you understand that I am not some stepping stone or up start looking for a quick pop. I am a competitor, a survivor and the last thing you are going see as you get assisted to the back. See you soon.
